If it’s any consolation I agree with you. It was fresh with some genuinely good stuff to start with but they’ve done it to death. Don’t see the point of driving round a pretend supermarket when they’ve already done an episode driving around a real shopping centre that was much more entertaining.
Every time I watch an original Top Gear in Youtube I realise I’d rather have that version than the current one.
Always been a TG fan, but was a bit disappointed with the first show of the series, just think the usual dicking about went a bit far to the point of being not really funny, just hope it gets better.
The best one I saw was the Clarkson v RAF fighter, (or was it Apache Helicopter 
) for entertainment, and the Reliant 3 wheeler one for best laughs, where he kept rolling it on corners on the street
