Top 3 truck stops

pjscafe.co.uk

£15.75 including meal, pudding, unlimited tea, and shower. Food is freshly cooked to order. Nice showers. Small so you’ve got to get in early though.

transportcafe.co.uk/uk-motor … lorry-park

Best food of any truckstop I’ve been to. Showers were crap but a new block was being built and should be open now. Small so you’ve got to get in early. Can’t remember the cost but it’s in the £15-£20 ball park with food.

lockerbielorrypark.co.uk

Massive clean tarmaced parking area that never fills up so roll in when you like and park easy. £17 to park with a £5 food voucher, although food is expensive and not particularly good tbh. Power showers are brilliant. Hairdresser on site only charges £6 and she does a good haircut.

I like J26 on M25.
serve even Beer in First Floor if you stay longer

Only stayed at PJs cafe of the 3 mentioned, It was alright. My favourites are The Stockyard, A1 Colsterworth and The New Hollies. Quite like J29 off the M1 as well.

I parked at the Stockyard last week, was impressed with it, good showers and food and something a bit different to the usual cafe layout.

Lockerbie is decent as is The Fechan truck stop. Lesmahagow too, bit expensive for food and showers but both are excellent.

A.

I like the Route 74 at lesmahagow nice food all fresh showers are spot on and always cleaned. The parking is about £20 showers are £3.50

The Newtonmore grill just off the A9 (just at the B9152)is always good for food and the staff are nice and they take your order from the table. The parking is £10 but that includes a £5 meal discount when you get food and the shower is only 50p.

Had a breakfast at Lockerbie a couple of months ago, way over priced and very poor quality in my opinion.

Do you mean the beaconsfield services■■?

The stockyard is staggering distance from my house

Skelmersdale is a hidden gem, best showers I’ve ever come in.

Never got chance to try the food but buy your first tea then rest are free.

I don’t get up that way very often but I like Skelmersdale as well. Clean place friendly service and the food is ok. They even let me use the facilities when I got the late one night and had to park outside the gate

I stay 7 nights a week at ’ Beavers '. Showers are free and spotless. Free parking for my car.

Food is hit and miss. Depends on what kind of day Mrs B has had.

Currently parked up at Watling St.£20 to park but that includes a £6 meal voucher and a shower voucher. Food not bad tbh. You gotta get here early though, I got here at 6pm and probably got one of the last slots.

Have you seen that youth with the inch thick glasses cleaning the bogs then making your tea yet ?

Always go a bit further out my way than usual to stop here, quite new to snap but worth a mention. Only a matter of time before its rammed most nights which I probably ain’t helped. Hey hoo use em or lose em.
