Took PCV test by mistake?

One of our van drivers is going for his class 1.
Took his theory and hazard perception today.
Passed both but his hazard perception says PCV on it instead of LGV.
He thinks he ticked the wrong box when booking the test.
Does anyone know if this will still be valid towards his licence or will he have to retake?

The PCV theory is different to the theory of an LGV, unfortunately he will have to sit both the LGV theory and hazzard perception again under the LGV title.

Drivers like him are not needed on the road, if he can’t do a basic tick box exercise… what would he be like on the road. Oh wait will rely on a sat nav.

Yeah I had a similar thought…

Mensa material right there but to be fair he will fit in well at stobarts and rise to the dizzy heights of planner quickly

Lots of AAA geniuses on here.
Let me tell you, he does struggle a little with certain aspects of literacy, mainly form filling, and normally asks for help when needed although he made a mistake on this occasion.

However, this guy is loyal, trustworthy, hard working, polite and presentable. Also a courteous yet efficient driver. And I would give him a job 100 times over before a bunch of ■■■■ posting trolls on here.

And he won’t be needing stobarts or anyone else as he’s got a decent job with us for as long as he wants. He will be paid well and treated well, and will never see an RDC, supermarket or goods in window.

Thanks mate, it was just the hazard perception that was the wrong one and it looks like he will have to retake, even though I believe the tests are identical

Have you not realised no one has anything nice to say here. It’s one big troll fest with nothing but hate and bile towards anyone who posts a question

I know its daft mate, but I had to retake my hazzard perception and theory test to obtain my PCV even though I have a class 1 licence and a CPC, I even had to retake the CPC from the beginning although as you say they are identical.

My understanding is that the hazard perception and multiple choice tests are separate entities, booked separately, so it should only be the correct hazard perception needing to be taken.

Anybody would think it was all to do with making money instead of competence and road safety…surely not.

You are such a cynic, Surely you cannot possibly think that.

When I read the title I wondered how a driver did not realise they were driving a PCV instead of an LGV :exclamation:

To be right if both tests were taken on the same time, wouldnt you think that the test center would have caught the mistake, an LGV theory test and a PCV hazzard perception test seems something isnt right, it might be their mistake rather than the person sitting the test.

OP friend posting in a years time:

“Just when on a red light, and ran someone over by mistake” thread

If they still called them PSV and HGV then this type of mistake wouldn’t happen. :stuck_out_tongue:

Nearly there again:

The reason why I and a lot of others dont visit this site very often now.

I am out of touch with all the latest however a few years ago the hazard perception test was the same for LGV/PCV. The theory test is different one relating to loads etc and the other safety of passengers etc.
If that’s the case he may be ok or maybe things have changed?
