just looking at one of these. anyone know if they are any good? can you download bridge heights onto them as a poi?
I think they may be Linux based so not that easy.
i may be wrong but most new tomtoms arnt easy to put poi etc on unless thru tomtom home.
Don’t ■■■■ about with a TomTom…They will get silly. Buy one for the job. Don’t try and make a cheap one “better”. Just my opinion!!!

I have ****** about with a good few and they all behaved. there ok as long as you use the correct maps and navcore. best bet is the tom tom go 530/540 etc where you put everything onto sd card and leave the actual unit untouched.
Maybe I have bad luck then. I purchased maps from Tomtom, and everytime my Sat Nav has crashed and they could never be sorted.(With TomTom) So I vowed never to buy again. Garmin only now for me.
I gave them 3 chances and every single one has died after 1 year max. Each to their own and all that.

Well at least you have bought another good type as in Garmin, I think one of the best mapping units available but tom tom is easy to hack. I never buy a map i just go to certain sites and download map/navcore then use a simple prog to patch them to unit.
thanks for your input vern and gez!
im lost with linux and navcore talk! i dont use sat nav that often, so just wanting a cheapish unit. think i will go for the tomtom, but just use my bridge map (as in olden days!)
had a tomtom one? which i used for 7 years till it died last summer, well it was okay till i was in a bad mood and flung my bag into car one night!!!
