The long awaited release of the tomtom app for iOS that incorporates trucks has finally been released. The android version of this app has been available for some time. There is however a subscription charge (£79/yr) for unlocking the truck features, far in excess of the regular price of around (£18/yr)

Them phones in big red boxes, you would be down a sixpence in no time though.
Now at least Bogdon and every other driver who use their phones with car app as a stanav won’t have an excuse to end up down a rabbit hole.
Though since I’m in Portugal drink beer, sightseeing and partying at the motorcycle rally in Faro I won’t be needing a truck satnav

Blame Dopey, everyone always does
I didn’t even know there was an android app for the truck version. May sound a daft question but are there any charges for updating a sat nav (shop bought)? Or is it all in with the purchase price?
The phone apps are subscription based, if you’re using a stand alone satnav know as a PND stuck to the window then it’ll either have lifetime updates or you can pay for the updates

The android version has been out years as the Tom Tom Web fleet sat nav was Android based
IOS has only just come out £80 for a 1st timer is a lot easier to swallow than buying a stand alone @£370 and if you can pay by pay pal and pay in 3 that’s £26.66 over 3 months
Because I have a Tomtom account I got an email a while back inviting me to be a beta tester for the iOS truck app….all I had to do is use it as normal and report back any issue with a screenshot and the problem. Only a few issues I’ve noticed so far and that’s the number of exits to take off certain roundabouts….exit M4 j11 from the West and it wants 3rd exit onto A33 into Reading….3rd is back on M4! Another was wanting me to continue to next roundabout and take 3rd exit and left at next, instead of just telling me to take 3rd exit at first one and to my depot….they’ve had the info they need so we’ll see if it changes in a future update
