Having brought my old TomTom ONE out of retirement, I’ve discovered a tiny problem with it - I can’t turn it off! Pressing the Power button sends it into the shut-down procedure but then straight away it starts up again. It only stops when the battery runs down (or if I poke its bottom with a paper clip). Any ideas how to fix this behaviour?
if you got your bottom poked you would switch off …wouldn’t you ■■?

I’m not sure about the Tomtom One, but I believe some Tomtoms require you to hold in the reset button by using a paper clip (or similar) for a full 30 seconds to properly reset the devise.
Wouldn’t you know it - Even having tried pressing and holding this or that switch, and the uttering of umpteen combinations of Hail Marys over several days, all it took was for me to post a question here and the very next time I tried to switch the thing off, it worked perfectly
