Hi,
I have to purchase one hgv satnav. I used a Garmin Dezl 570 but it died after 5 years of use. Between the 2 models in the title which one you think it’s better ?
Thank you
Well I have no experience of Tomtom but I buy Garmin purley because it is not made in china.

Garmin apparently has two factories in Taiwan and one in China, in addition to the ones in N America.

I have a Garmin. Easy to use, regular updates and I can Bluetooth link it to my phone for pinpointing specific addresses and live traffic updates which is good for rerouting if there are major delays on motorways etc.
Tom Tom
I have used both, not really very much difference tbh. The only thing I wil say that I have always noticed. The TomTom feels more delicate than the
Garmin. I use Garmin now but that was based on price of the units at the time and the Garmin was a better deal. You could get either and not be dissapointed. Just go for the best deal at the time you are buying and look at the features to compare either model.
Just got the dezl 700. Guy at work has the tomtom 620(?) He said it was good the first couple of weeks but recently not so much.

No experience of any HGV sat navs before this one, but I just bought a Garmin dezl 1000.
Have tested the Bluetooth/phone connection with a call and it was loud and clear (am hard of hearing).
You can also search on Google maps on your phone and send it to your satnav which I found useful.
Another feature I found potentially useful is the (purchased separately) reverse camera you can connect to your sat nav.
I’ve not had a chance to use it yet, but I do like the 10inch screen, Google search and ability to make phone calls via voice, and phonebook uploads into the sat nav etc. The screen is nice and bright, but it’s basically an android tablet with a magnetic suction mount.
Bad points are it took me a while to figure out how to connect my phone via Bluetooth to the device (don’t use the Garmin drive app, but their new dezl app!) Also this is frigging expensive. So are the attachments but I guess it’s a work tool.
