If you have made a complete copy using your PC and not home or open your Tom tom With your PC and not home, then you can move your favorites folder over or copy and save it, then past it into your new one. I would copy your new one first and save somewhere just in case first, as you will have to delete it to get the new old one on… I do not know whether they are compatible between the two models though, probably are though.
You want to copy the - Map Settings cfg - file IIRC which can be found in your map folder. The map folder is titled for whichever map you have eg Western Europe
i have just had a look at that and there are no favourites folder in there (or favourites as i know them and stored them), i dont think it is in the maps as you say it is somewhere else but i cant seem to find them!!!

Please re-read what I said above. It is not named “favourites”
the only thing in my maps folder is this
United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland.tlv
is it this that i need to copy over?
No
From desktop - right click on My Computer > Explore > (when tomtom plugged in) > Tom Tom > click on that folder name you said is your map, but its not tlv > then look for file > Map Settings cfg.
Click on this - below - to see how it is on mine
The pointer points to it and note the map folder highlighted on the left.
Removed
click on what?
The clickable thumbnail pic
Your map folder as shown on mine, yours must be very similar. Mine is the blue highlighted one on the left which brings up all the folders on the right and my pointer is pointing to the folder that has your faves in.
Try it now
all that folder shows on mine is the POI’s i have downloaded, looking at your screen shot there should be a folder in between the voices and the zip folder which mine doesnt have.
does it make a difference that i am running vista (it shouldnt but you never know)?
i guess i will just have to start again once i get my new one. im not spending half the day messing about with this

to be honest i dont think microsoft have a clue about vista!
A bit OT but it seems that Microsoft have so little faith in Vista that they’ve now further extended the last sales date of Win XP OEM version until July 31, 2009
i use the favourites for saving todays deliveries etc but i’ve saved all my previous deliveries/collection in a poi file in case i ever go back. this way if i ever change my tomtom or someone steals i can just cut and paste the file from old to new.
Make sure you do a PC explorer back up (copy and paste a full copy on to your hard drive) of your entire Tom Tom often. Then you always go back to it or parts of it, if needed.
