TNUK go slow / slow loading. [Merged]

peterm:
It’s now a bit of a mixture, sometimes a bit faster and others just as bad. Not too bad at the moment, but it is downhill all the way to me.

Yesterday afternoon was dire

Sent from goodness knows where

Still frustratingly slow despite “the fix” that has apparently been actioned.
Hardly surprising there is few posts appearing on the forum, members are no doubt giving up whilst attempting to log in.

I’ve just given up trying to load a thread. Terribly slow.

Been slightly better (more ‘‘Less bad’’ than good  ) but not consistent.

I too have noticed a drop in post counts when I log in in a morning from the night before, I’m assuming members are a bit ■■■■■■ with it.

Not toooo bad this morning tbf, but not up to the usual standards before all this crap started weeks ago, and how long will it last this time.

No need to go into technicalities…but why is it taking so long to sort? , never known tech probs take as long to sort before on this site.

Sorry  . but it reminds me of a writing on the wall scenario when you know your firm is short lived, and you find yourself on the fuel stop list, repairs to your truck taking longer to get done, credit stops, and pay shortages, …then every thing comes to a halt.
I sincerely hope not in TN’s case as I enjoy this forum.

Yes Rob, it’s the same here too.

As I’ve said before, the problem has been reported onward and upward.

The tecchy people are on the job, but I don’t do tech stuff, so I can’t explain that side of things apart from to say that there are ongoing discussions (about stuff that I don’t understand    ) and that at least one fix has already been put in place.

I’ve been in that position several times in my career, so I do understand that feeling.

Let’s be fair… I’ve already explained that I’m no techy, so I wouldn’t be comfy attempting to explain something that I don’t understand. If I tried spouting forth about technical I.T. type stuff, anybody with even a little technical nous would see straight through it in a flash.

In the same way, … I don’t fix fridges or play the piano.

We aim to please, but a free-to-use site has to be run on a budget, so there’s the balancing act.

I’m sure that JDClark who posted a few posts ago will be back once there’s something more he can tell us.

Cheers for that Dave.
You missed a trick there mate, and could have gained some brownie points and kudos.
You could have totally blagged it and blinded me with tech science, I would be non the wiser being that I’m totally thick when it comes to that stuff, and I would have had you down as my tech hero.

Could closing down the kindergarten aka “the UK professional drivers forum” be a solution? I’ll get me coat…

CoughGood time for Pete to put an offer in…

No problems this morning, system as fast as those lads on the A75!

That may be quite true Rob, but the 99% of readers (so those other than you an I) would have spotted it for the BS that it would have been.

I only know what I know, which ain’t a lot really!! :grimacing:

I’d like to put the apparent very recent speed improvement down to the fix that was recently implemented, but I’m not ‘tech’ enough to attempt to state it as a fact. If it’s true though, I must say it was implemented by those cleverer than me.

:bulb: Let’s enjoy it while it lasts!!

It’s faster than before but still slower than most forums (and those others have large databases)

I was very aware of a slow-down on many of the usual sites I use on the internet that started in the middle of March, I assumed it was due to knock-on effects of the lockdown with more people working or schooling from home or using the internet to keep in touch. However TrucknetUK appeared to be much slower than other sites and whilst others have recovered Trucknet is still very slow to load.
Hopefully it will get back to normal once everyone is back to work and school.

2 times today I’ve popped on the site and both it loads quite fast, has the Trucknet click, wait, wait, see delay been fixed perchance?

spot on today…goes a quick as a greasy stick up a dogs bum…long may it last…

Same here… now where’s that bloody dog.

I know there is already another thread from way back on this issue but tonight the site is taking way too long to load pages, I had faster responses on my old dial-up service!
Not sure what has changed but the site was always fast to load but tonight I am making coffee between page loads!! :frowning:

I’ve just merged them.

The last post on what was the ‘other’ topic was only yesterday.
