Response times are still very slow. Is this ever going to be fixed or is admin going to keep ignoring it and hope it goes away?
dieseldave:
Itās not the administrators who fix things like this.
Sorry, but I beg to differ. If my website ran this slow for this long, I would have already moved hosts and put it on a more powerful server. Weāre at the point now where performance is seriously degraded and users arenāt going to visit any more, or visit less, because 10 seconds per page load simply isnāt acceptable. Not meant as a moan - I realise itās a free site etc - but as honest feedback.

To clarify what Dave meant (and this is not aimed at any individual) the administrators and mods do not have the access or rights, to move the site to another host, review the servers that it sits on or access the database platform and ultimately the database(s) themselves. All of those are outwith our control.
We have escalated the performance problems to those who do have rights to those areas and we are entirely reliant on them addressing it.
We canāt set their priorities however. So at this point rightly or wrongly we have to accept were we are with this. I donāt like it anymore than you do.
I know itās continually being said, why is TN loading slower than a dial up connection, or slower than waiting for notes at Aldiā¦ Come technical help speed it up.

No idea but itās getting ā ā ā ā ā ā ā annoying now

Same here. Maybe the owner doesnāt have the money to do anything about it.
+1 very slow
between 15 and 35 seconds every page.
even when you fix it,then every single night after 10 or 11 then its always the same version of slow connection even if it works ok during the day, theres always a problem every evening.
Some other sites are a bit slow but no where near as bad as TN. There was something announced months ago about tāinternet companies reducing bandwidth or some similar technical mumbojumbo during covid, so that essential information could be accessed.
Happening all over the shop here , its the Mrs using up the bandwidth with her Netflix / Amazon / iplayer /downloading of ā ā ā ā ā ā
Too many people on the internet at one time, more popular the site more stress its under.

Hi SJB,
In my turn, I completely accept your honest feedback.
Nevertheless, Iām holding to what youāve quoted from me, which you may still differ withā¦ but,
The forum rules:
Note This website is owned by DVV Media International Ltd. and administered by us for them.
Iāve already reported the slowness to the relevant person, who in turn has reported it to the Team who take care of such things.
Apart from the excellent answer given by Col (above,) I canāt say any more because there is nothing else to say other than we await a diagnosis/repair.
FWIW I continue to find that the website appears to be OK as far as speed is concerned - but access using a mobile phone or tablet (regardless of how it connects to tāInternet) using Tapatalk is direā¦
if it continues to be as slow as it normally is,then i would imagine there will be a few of is demanding a rebate on our forum subscriptionsā¦
CONSPIRACY THEORY
Perhaps various public forums about the internet are being scanned each time someone tries to make a new post these days?
If youāre saying things like āI want to listen to James OāBrienā or āOrange Man Badā or āWhy canāt China build more of our infrastructure?ā
ā¦then your post goes straight through.
Anything of a ādissidentā nature though?
Somewhere on some distant āCambridge ā ā ā ā -ticaā server, a software algorhythm is ssearching the internetā¦
It comes across a site called TnUK where posters are clearly violating acceptable patterns of free speech in not supporting the deep state narrativeā¦
HOLD SITE - SCANNINGā¦ GATHERING EVIDENCE OF FREE SPEAKERSā¦ SAVINGā¦
If Iām correct, then it is to this siteās credit, as the āsooo sloowā amounts to rather more people than just myself posting Anti Establishment stuff at once on here.
Over the course of days and weeks, I should also notice rather less replies to my own threads, unless those replies contain magic key words like āwinseerā and ācriticismā if Iām correctā¦
Winseerā¦ read up on āTemporaā. Itās not a theory, itās happening
As for the replies to my comment, Iām happy to accept the point that the user class of āadminā doesnāt necessarily have actual admin rights over the code as a whole and where itās hosted. I should have made clearer that my finger points to the administrators a little higher up, who do have the capability to fix this but have chosen not to, rather than at the user class of administrator, who are unable to fix this.
Blooming heck some ones put a shilling in the meter
