I wonder what a TM is going to check for 8 hours per week, how long can you spend on 6 cards and a maintenance inspection every 6 weeks?

Indeed, it is hard to imagine more than an hours worth of work being needed most weeks.

Agreed, my ex TM did his nominated 8 hours but the wasn’t much to do. He can only check my inspections every 6 weeks and my 5 days a week daily checks.

if you are an O/D, you don’t actually have to fill in a daily inspection sheet :wink:

The Man-From-The-Ministry said that making a note in my diary that I had done my checks was perfectly acceptable. I do have some defect sheets made up though for the odd occasion someone other than me drives it.

i didn’t say NOT to do an inspection sheet or make a note, i just said that as an O/D, you don’t actually have to done one or make any notes, after all, who are you going to report any defects to?

I can imagine the bloke you are paying 40 quid a week trying to tell you you are not going to work today unless you do an inspection sheet, never mind if you will miss a £300 job :laughing:
