Just ordered a new glass screen and glue for my S3 and plan fitting it myself, has anybody done this or got any tips
i’ve seen the videos on youtube but some first hand info would be useful
Only done it with iphones but I think Samsung are supposedly harder to do. There’s a good site called howtomendit.Com which I’ve always found helpful
I’ve never done it but the top two videos in the list seem to be good, depending on whether you want to change just the glass or the complete screen.
Good luck with that! just dropped htc one yep cracked the screen.
Should know better than get 2 year contract, mobi never lasts that long!
Cheers tacho, found the video i wanted youtube.com/watch?v=snt12H-3CJY
most the others don’t use glue and those who do don’t remove the lcd so excess glue probably goes everywhere inside the phone when the glass goes on

150k+ for a house and then another 3 or 400 for insurance is a bit extreme for a new screen

If it’s the touchscreen only, you could get a screen for £10 (if not less) and get it fitted for another £10.

You could do that but im a bit more diy than that.
i used a hair dryer and a business card to remove the glass, all good so far, i then decided to remove the LCD and glue the glass to the screen the way it should be done in a mold (cheap repairs use double-sided sticky tape).
I got about a quarter way down the screen before it cracked
so 79 for lcd, 10 for the mold and 14 for new glass i never used:
total parts= 104
