Was like that when I delivered cream to one place in Minsterley. Back tanker up to distribution point, open vents, leave paperwork on back of trailer, go to the canteen directly opposite my truck and have breakfast and read the paper. Come back an hour later, all done, closed up, cleaned down and signed PODs left on the drivers seat.
Cant see anything wrong with it,but no doubt the
should be on other work` brigade will be along later.

It’s fair enough if it’s going to get you home 1/2 hr,3/4 hr earlier, but in a lot of cases it doesn’t,you just end up doing 15 hrs all the same, but without a break.
If you are taking no part in the unloading, then no problem at all. A couple of places I load I go off and have shower, tacho’s on break easy peasy to

I read the OP’s text and upon deciding that I could not work out WTF the author was on about, I wondered if it had been penned by good old Mr Hitch
And yes, it has been

You can only book POE under certain circumstances.
POE?
It’s a joke. I thought it might be obvious from the context of the quotes.

At the place I mentioned I regularly used to go off site to the petrol station down the road to get my newspaper so truly met the requirements for being on break.
I’m working for one employer now and so I have two ways of dealing with such things.
-
If I’m not doing the actual loading/unloading or I am resting/in cab/wandering around etc then that is ‘rest’ on the tacho.
-
If I’m in the back with the pallet truck, or supervising, or doing other work related stuff then I’ll leave it on ‘other work’ or something. Don’t use POA.
Got into a mess the other day because I didn’t follow my own plan and just went over the 6hr rule by about 15m. But in defense my mobile with TruckTimer has died and I’ve had to clear the software off… So I’m doing it by paper these days

It’s not without a break though is it because if you’re in the cafe having breakfast how is that anything but break. Just because he’s not stopped in a layby banging one out on the bunk doesn’t mean it’s not a break.

Oh, so you’re the one that leaves all those stains on the bunk is it…
