Pete Buckingham at Smiths Dewers’ Farm quarry, Ardley. He’s had this motor chipped to 510bhp.

This one is more suited to this thread (sorry Nathan) rather than on Ameys -they do operate largely in the Cotswold/Wilts areas --sorry about the poor pic quality but i did not allow for speed -should know better getting slow in my old age—toshboy
You would have to be quick to take a good photo with those earth line tippers , they are “right tare arses”

I was listening to two of theirs’ talking on the cb the other day (ch5) and the days’ work they’d been given…

What was she to start with? Did it do any better on fuel? I’d like a globetrotter fm 8 legger but a 30tonner is rare!
Cheers
John
I’ll ask Pete when I see him as he works for us most days; I think it was around 400ish and he reckons it does improve mpg by making block changing easier. I heard him say that chipping it didn’t cause any warranty issues as it’s secondhand on an 03 plate.

Not sure where Barry Jeffrey’s from but his wagons are very common on the M5 and Fosseway.
Hi, they are from Mickleton.
I bet they’d make a nice noise going up Fish Hill though
Muckaway:
Anyone got any Huntsman pics?
Stx, have you heard about the young fitter for Priors that moved an F88 that was to be sol, only to take the door off?
sorry it took so long to get back to you nathan only just found this post. The young fitter you talk of would have been my dad.

I’ve loaded this a few times since being on the shovel; It tares at 12-12100kgs. It was a 420 pre-chipping.
Muckaway:
I now load this Leyland with the shovel pictured; This Leyland can carry 11.2t at 17t mgw Food for thought for todays’ manufacturers.
I thought I’d bump this thread with one of my favourite photos.
Wouldn’t like to tip that length of trailer on a slope with a load of coated chippings!

I was on that road Tuesday and feel sorry for those having to go up it fully loaded with all the road works going on

Our recently closed stone quarry is at the top, next to Broadway Tower. I used to love being sent to work out of there as you could do a days’ work in four different counties, all a few minutes drive from the quarry.

It is a nice shot ! If it was parked like that for the picture or in a tight spot fair enough, but I would have got a real ear bashing for tipping a trailer that long with the unit at an angle

My thoughts exactly Trev, but not really being a “tipper Wallah” thought I’d better keep Stumm !!But having said that I wouldn’t have attempted to tip a trailer that long at that angle, common sense I suppose !! Will there be much of that in the Cotswolds,or a serious shortage of it !!Maybe it was just Nathan ■■■■■■■ about while the driver went to the Office for his next instruction !! Cheers Dennis.
