Tipper Operators of the Cotswolds

The much missed fleet of Priors of Middle Barton.

B&Es’ Axor; Originally an Irish demonstrator it was re-registered as a 56 plate and has dodged the LEZ cut off of Sept 2006.

Not a tipper but worthy of a place in the Cotswold operators section

Just found this gem on the 'net; Hills of Swindon.

From Cullimores’ website.

Nice thread Nathan. Quite a few familiar liveries here, I see Earthline quite a lot. I even applied for jobs with a few of these firms :wink:

HEALTH AND SAFETY! :laughing: :laughing:

One of those featured here require a pilots’ license :wink: :laughing:

This was operated by WJ Wyatt of Standlake after being sold by Smiths during the recession; I’ve heard it’s been sold again but it’s been seen recently in the Chipping Norton area :confused: Either way it was my old girl (identified by someone who put a “Caterpillar” badge on the grille :blush:

Good thread this Nathan thanks for posting.
Like the Cullimore’s Reiver ( Nicholas Nickleby )
brings back some good and bad Reiver memories. Mike.

Merv Gibson (Woodstock) crosses the Somme at Hills tip, Tubney Wood.

Two from Webbs website;

Boss man Derek Webb drives the 6wheeler which carries an impressive 17 tonnes… One of the reasons why he wont part with it.

Hi Mike; just for fun, two “Nicholas Nicklebys’” from different points in history :wink:

Unlike Stobarts, Cullimores’ like to recycle the names :smiley:

A couple of demonstrators supplied to Smiths Bletchington;

My Dad drove this for 2 days-hated it.

This demo has been around several of the local companies; Smiths bought 2 but some hauliers say they’re just too heavy.

Hi Nathan.Yes its nice to see the names kept going on Cullimore’s gear.
Scania looks fine nice unit, but big and clumsy for artic tipper work on dry.
Just my opinion.
Regards Mike.

Dad summed it up: “Alright for taking food to Sainsburys’, but rubbish on quarry work”…
