On a change of topic what is the tightest spot you have found yourself in, and who has been proper stuck, or unable to untick themself’s?
I’ve had a few but most recent was having to blindside into a lane just wide enough for the trailer, which had parked cars, and was uphill in the pitch black and torrential rain. To make matters worse I had no traction (diff was on) and had no choice but to boot it. Very lucky the angle was spot on or it would have been chaos having to fight of a few angry locals no doubt.
We do bits to to building sites some house renovations. Etc
And now most people are at home. Am finding it a bit tight in places with parked cars all over the place .
First off cheers for the change of topic.
Anyway as a box jockey I’ve had a few, most notable was a house move in Brighton where it was a given they would have to park me down the street and carry stuff to me.
But after arriving although the entrance was tight (yes it was a gay couple absolute legends), I said I could get in with trailer shortened as no weight on.
By the 5th shunt into the driveway I regretted opening my gob but 10 shunts and £10 worth of tyre later I was in.
Shaved 2 hours off the job.
In hindsight most of the tight spots I’ve got myself into are down to my own desire not to be beaten.
Probably the worst I’ve done on a regular basis is Debenhams at Luton Arndale. Blind reverse finishing a foot from the wall, with only 8 feet in front of the cab. If you weren’t given a unit with a rear window, you refused it. Tesco in central Norwich was fun too.

I think anyone who has gone to Cargill in Antwerp will have had a shock or driven past it a few times before they realised.
Anyone ever been to “anything 4 home” in Birmingham?
I like that one wheelnut, it will pick the good from the bad. never understood why they wouldn’t install offset fills at places like that…

Much easier if you had a RHD truck. I had both whilst pulling out of there.
Went to a small local shop where you turn off a busy dual carriageway into a side street and reverse blindside onto a dock. Way out is the opposite. Anyway I turned up one morning and someone had parked their 4x4 across the loading access. I knocked on several doors and no one owned up. Asked the shop what the streets were like round their area to see if I could drive round and get back out, to be told that they’re ok. So I set off forward to find half a mile later I couldn’t get round this left turn for the cars and a lamppost. Had to reverse all the way back, get the traffic stopped on the dual carriageway and reverse out onto it. Right ball ache

You could be in the crap if it breaks down, no phone signal, doors wont open and the dozer cant get past to give you a shove.
It was always an experience when we were movings cars in & out of the Grande Palais in Paris, bit tight in a normal running height truck but piloting a low ride transporter and most of it being done at night made it a tad more interesting.[emoji54][emoji54]

It may be tight but it’s far to over grown for my liking
