This weeks American Adventure Diary with pics

This is from my trip this week.
Into the yard on Friday and take an empty trailer over to Can-Oats in Portage la Prairie to load for Kathleen Georgia.

Soon loaded there with oat flower going to Frito Lay, that’s Walkers Crisp over here, scale the load and all’s well after a slight adjustment to the trailer tandems

I had a phone call on my way over to load saying the trailer was due new brake drums,
so had to return to the yard for that done before I can get on my way :unamused: .
They decide to stick a few new tyres on as well while there at it, still I am in no rush as its not due to tip until 10am Monday.

So while the workshop is doing their thing I thought I get a pics of some of our other motors as there was a few back being Friday.

And this is the Boss mans motor, which is a working motor
It’s got a 550 ■■■■■■■■ full double bed, shower and any other bit of bling you can think of

Any way that’s enough of hanging around the yard it’s time to get going, leave Niverville and head down through Morris to the border at Pembia, a few pics of Morris just for you newmercman, not bad pics if you knew the state of the road throu here

Then it’s down to Fargo and gets myself just south of Minneapolis for the night, 1051 ks today.
Back to it after a nice lie in and a 9am start, head south to Mason City then across to Waterloo with a quick stop for fuel

Nice looking motor

Then head south down to St Louis and over to Mount Vernon for the night, 1008 ks today
Kick off at 6am this morning as I’ve been told it can be hard to get parked up down near Atlanta if you leave it too late.
Down past Nashville

Stop at Wal-Mart for a bit of Subway breakfast in Manchester Tennessee, it’s nice they have truck parking for us, it’s nice to see that some drivers still wont walk that far thou ![](http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y88/nianiamh/032-5.jpg) Carry on down throu Chattanooga, where I find matey boy who went flying passed the brake check at the top of the hill now having a nice smoke coming down the other side    ![](http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y88/nianiamh/038-2.jpg) and on to the Petro truck stop on the Atlanta ring road for fuel & get the motor washed & me as well, it’s a good sized place and after 3 laps I had to park miles away, the walk to the showers near killed me ![](http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y88/nianiamh/041-3.jpg) ![](http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y88/nianiamh/044-2.jpg) Headed a bit further south to Jackson GA and park up by 4.30pm and only just over an hour in the morning to my drop 870 ks today. On the bay for 9am next morning ![](http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y88/nianiamh/049-2.jpg) And tipped and on my way by 10am ![](http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y88/nianiamh/051-2.jpg) Now I dont have a reload yet so I head back up to where I stayed last night and await the call and wait and wait,
there are 4 truck stops at this exit and you cant move in any of em so it looks like I am not the only one looking for a load, still its 36c with clear blue skies :sunglasses: so I don`t mind too much 227 ks today

Reload comes next morning to run down to Jackson Alabama for a load of paper back upto Canada, spot this nice bit of loading on the way

Then I came across a bloke standing at the side of the road waving his hi-vis vest at me,
so I thought eye eye he`s done something for all the folks on Tnet and needs my camera out and sure enough he wanted you all to see his fine parking
As you can see it’s a really tricky stretch of road to navigate heading up hill with a full load of logs on

Paper loaded and start to make my way home, but I have some deck space left so they are trying to find something else to put on, make my way up to Henderson TN for the night 1099 ks today.
Into the Flying J at Mathews on I55 for fuel and told to wait a couple of hours while they look for more freight for me,
so theres only one thing for it breakfast buffet all you can eat $10, I manage to wind 2 plate full’s in before I feel sick and time for a lie down. Get a call head up to St Louis and stop again, getting board now I just want to get some miles done, a few random pics on the way up from Alabama ![](http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y88/nianiamh/065-2.jpg) ![](http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y88/nianiamh/066.jpg) ![](http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y88/nianiamh/067.jpg) Still nothing so carry on north then get a call to pick up 3 pallets from Des Moines Iowa in the morning, so I get over there wed night 1020 ks today. Find the place in the morning and it looks like a junk yard ![](http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y88/nianiamh/074.jpg) Soon loaded with 3 pallets of plastic crap toys from China for Winnipeg, now it’s foot down time as I’ll get back to the yard from here if I can keep myself away from all you can eat buffets  , the weather soon starts to change as I head back north to Canada ![](http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y88/nianiamh/078.jpg) ![](http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y88/nianiamh/082.jpg) I know drivers like Peterbilts out here but youd think this bloke would share his

Get to the border and no queue its my lucky night only 50 mile to the yard then home, WRONG some of the toys from China are small plastic guns,
So it’s onto a bay for inspection and after an hour the customs guard tells me the 3 pallets are being seized because of the toy guns, so it’s off back to the yard with just the paper I picked up 1153 ks today.
7 days on the road 6 nights out and a total distance of 6431 ks

Hope this is okay for you all, I enjoyed the trip & hope you have too
Cheers
Neal
