We’ve just had a guy come back to H&R from there and he not rate them a great deal but only spoke to him once but he did say he found it hard to get the miles in
Moving out straight away with family is hell of a move to make so I would recomend a couple week recce trip first once you have decided what area you want to live in then while out here go knock a couple doors with CV’s and APCO checkin hand, try and find one that will take care of the immegration process for you as that be a lot off your mind also DON’T be duped into going through an agency they carge a huge sum of money to do stuff that you can do yourself

Criminal record check google ACPO all straightforward about 40 quid takes a week.
If you have a criminal record its not an automatic no to entry.
I do have one but its mainly stupid stuff from when I was <16 apart from drivin with no insurance (no longer on license)
Accsoiation of police chief officers check. It depends how that worded if comes back stepped down then should b ok mine come back with a old driving offence and I was fine but that would be your first move download that and print it off
As said, you will need to get the police check from ACPO and if that says “No Trace” you are absolutely fine. If it says “No Live Trace” it means you have a record, but its stepped down, but the very fact that the word “Live” features means that it might as well have a flashing light alerting them to the fact you once had a criminal record. If that is the case, you will then need to go to your nearest main police station and will out a SAR (Subject Access Request) form and they will mail back a full and proper list of offences you have commited and its for the Canadians, and even more importantly, the Americans to decide your future. America will bar you entry for a lot of things that Canada wont, but as most work in Canada is going to and from the US, you would be at a severe disadvantage if you couldnt cross the border.
I’ve got a criminal record and the American side of things was far easier to sort the Canadian side was a lot stricter and took a lot of time to sort out. Although I suppouse the nature of the offence may change this.

Are you still eligable for I94 Visa Waivers to enter the US or does the criminal record mean you have to get the full visitors visa from the embassy periodically?
