These might help on your first day

Here’s some links that may help you out on your first day. Most are in the FAQ forum, some are not. Hopefully they’ll make your first day a bit easier . Here they are in no particular order.

  • What are splitters and range changers? Look here
  • Why you couple up the way you’ve been taught explained here
  • Hight conversion chart (mind that bridge) here
  • The Drivers Hours Law from the horses mouth (VOSA). It also shows you how to fill a tacho out, I warn you now it’s 36 pages long when you print it, not a easy read, but well worth digesting. Find it Here
  • What’s the Rozza’s views on Mobiles when driving here

That’s all I can come up with for now, if you’ve got any more, then feel free to suggest them (in a post or by PM and I’ll add them to the list (eventually) :unamused::wink:.

What you’ll need on your first day in the workplace - this is the bear minumum required for a day run ie when your not sleeping in the cab overnight (on a night out):

  1. Steel Toecapped Boots
  2. Hi Viz Vest
  3. A pen (believe me, this is important - you need one to fill your tacho out with it ).
  4. Wallet (including cash/cards) obvious I know, but it’s suprising how easy it is to forget.
  5. Mobile 'phone with hands free kit.
  6. Truckers A - Z with bridge hights included.
  7. A copy of the drivers hours law and an understanding :open_mouth: of it .

You can add things like lunch and flask if you like - tachos you can nick off your employer. Thanks to Convoy for suggesting the original thread .
