Description

This vacancy is being advertised on behalf of First Personnel Group PLC who are operating as an employment agency. A modern apprentice in Business Administration. The successful candidate will work as our branch receptionist whilst working towards an NVQ level 2 in Business Administration. . Key responsibilities of the role include managing incoming calls, meeting and greeting branch visitors, filing, faxing, photocopying and producing weekly time sheets. We work with a local training provider to assist you in the successful attainment of your apprenticeship.

Now, i know this is an apprenticeship…but surely that is really just tantamount to slave labour?

Someone would be better off going to college to do the NVQ and getting a part time job stacking shelves or working McDonalds?

Think it’s called taking the p sorry mickey.

Well there is no wonder that kids are happier to do flower arranging or media studies at uni and then go straight on the dole.

If you are an apprentice under the age of 19 you are not entitled to the National Minimum Wage. If you are an apprentice aged 19 and over and you are still in the first year of your apprenticeship you are also not entitled to the NMW.

atm i’m an apprentic mechanic, and they have upped the apprentice wage to £95p/w from £80p/w, i started on £80p/w, upped to £95p/w just over 1yr ago, and it has just been put up to £110p/w. it can be hard when you’ve got, 100p/m car insureance, fuel min of £25p/w, and then theres boarding to parents 10p/w and general expenses on top of that, and then theres whats left, :frowning:

On the big money aye right. I’m 23 and was on £55 p/w when I was 16 and the time served parts men in the garage were only £5 odds an hour. Saw a sign on the back of a First bus “drive this bus from aged 18 £7 p/h” and that’s exactly what I did…
