I once got told that tourists wrote enough complaints to the government about having to follow lorries. No idea how true it is but it was the transport manager of a coach firm that told me.

They still have to follow lorries regardless of how fast they (coaches) are limited to since they were outlawed from lane three.
A bit too much faffing about as far as I’m concerned. I can drive a fully freighted artic anywhere that is legal, but I need to do another licence and all that what goes with it, to drive a modified rigid?
From the other side of the fence though ive been driving 40ft coaches with 57 precious ‘loads’ for the past 15 years but have had
to go through the whole process (and cost) a of medical, theory, hazard perception, and class 2 training and test just to drive a puddle jumper
I did my bus test straight after me class 1. Only cost me 160 quid that way. Still the worst 160 I’ve ever spent.
It’s just a class 2 test but they’ll ask you to stop with your door over a bus stop
It’s like an old thread on here Ang. Tesco don’t like their baked beans getting over 50mph, but the folk that deliver their petrol, in those mobile bombs, can do 56+
