After 6 years in captivity I’m finally being released back into my natural habitat in the jungle!!
I’ll be flying into Bandar Seri Begawan, the Bruneian capital on March 6th. then making my way across the Malaysian border and on to Bintulu to be reunited with the old Foden. Haven’t got a laptop anymore but just had an upgraded smart phone so hopefully I’ll be able to post some pictures and videos from a few Bintulu-Miri runs on the Trans Borneo. As I recall it’s not the most exciting or extreme journey by Asian standards (although the new road is rough as ■■■■ due to subsidence) but hopefully it will make a decent enough diary. I didn’t really appreciate the whole experience last time and took very few photos but I shall try to redeem myself on this occasion by giving you all an insight into how the East Malaysians do it with lots of photos of their trucks and working conditions etc.
If I get the chance I may also make a quick visit to Jakarta so there could be some Indonesian stuff on the way too…
Watch this space…
Not too sure on that one but certainly a Frederici look-alike.
Ex O/D from Gloucester area that used to run to Europe.
Blew up a few years ago in Northern Italy and was recovered back to the UK for an engine transplant.
It’s had yet another engine and double drive back end fitted since it has been in Malaysia but has
still got the twin-splitter.
Not long now until the first footage/diary… I’ll be airborne in less than 48 hours… Freedom is on the horizon…
Been an unreal trip so far… I’ll try to post a diary including photos next week if I can get to a decent wi-fi connection. No point in trying to explain anything right now without the aid of photographic evidence. You wouldn’t believe some of the ■■■■ that happens out here…!!

Hurry up then as all we’re hearing about this week is snow in the North East corner of America, fancy that eh, snow in that part of the world
You must have just missed me… I went to KK to visit an old member of the crew.
Used to be a lot more ERFs around but they’re slowly dying out due to lack of spare parts, especially ECUs… I know a lady in Sandakan that has 10 parked up in her yard! She’s gone back to buying Nissans and a few imported Volvos now… Before anybody asks… NO I HAVEN’T!!.. She’s Chinese and mid-fifties, never actually found out if she’s got a daughter though!! HMMM??
Will try to get the diary up in the next couple of days…
