Most people I assume are like me and take no notice of what Trump has to say, just as I take no notice of other criminal liars. He worries me not because whatever he says he will do has no bearing on what he actually will do.
I am not a doomsayer that thinks Nato absolutely needs the USA, since the main enemy, Russia, proved itself a paper tiger totally unable to overrun the much smaller Ukraine in a few weeks, there is nothing that Nato in Europe can’t cope with and, Putin knowing that now, would not be as daft as he has been.
But while the USA is in Nato it is atrocious that one country should effectively threaten war on fellow allies like Canada and Denmark. I see a Danish member of the EU parliament finished a short speech on the matter by telling him to ■■■■ Off.

Trump knows that Canada and Greenland are sitting on an Ocean of oil and gas and he knows the China wants to take it.

I disagree that they have beaten NATO, more like NATO have stopped Russia from progressing as much as they would without their help and training.
Can’t see them sending front line troops for the reason you point out, and the risk of it culminating into a full East v West war and going full on nuclear.
Putin expected a quick fix like in Crimea, the involvement of NATO states, (although not officially under the ‘flag’ of NATO) has caused him a lot of embarrasment, money,.equipment,.and lives.
He needs to look for a way of getting out of it but saving face at the same.

Well it seems that someone reported that Budanov said that, but Budanov themselves deny ever saying it.
