Anyone on here work for them■■? Iv seen them advertising at around £32 grand salary, from the new distribution centre at normanton,
Anyone know what it’s like and what they are like to work for etc,
At that money why not have a look at B&Q Red house as I know they are looking for core/staff drivers and iirc they`re on £32200+ basic, and £198 per 6th shift

Yes the 5 over 7 is not much good to me unless guaranteed very early starts

Agency lad at our spot used to go into Thorne now and again. From what he said it was a decent job. I was interested when I saw they were opening up at Normanton, but not worth the move with it been 4 times as far to commute to them compared to where I am now.
Also, seen Gregory advertising for drivers in Wakey? Where is that out of? Pay only advertised as £27k there!

I’m guessing it’s the same advert as I saw that and then this advert apeared at more money…
Iv applied but I’m thinking it’s a bit too good to be true in my area that money for Monday Friday day work,I’m expecting lots of hidden extras.
I love where I am now but money is falling behind and I need a bit more but need family time too

XPO run the transport and Wincanton run the warehouse.
I’ve not seen any details of the vacancies as i don’t work there, but B&Q run store deliveries Monday - Friday am/pm, with some Sunday - Thursday or Monday- Friday running nightshifts, obviously nights pay more than the £32k but afaik the guys on nights are on permanent nights and generally do trunking and cans to Felixstowe, with the majority of work shop on days which consists of 1-2 stores and bring back waste/recycling and maybe 1 store and a backhaul. Typical store deliveries are pull up open the curtains, get back in cab, sitting in the cab for an hour or two, forkie tips/reloads and you close curtails and drive off. You are not allowed out of the cab while the forkie is working, if you do he stops moving. He may ask you to pull the curtains to the other end so he can unload, but will stop working while you are out of the cab. Typical shifts are 9-11hrs

Thanks peirre Iv just looked on xpo website and it don’t look like there’s any vacancies at the moment
Check Indeed jobs for Yorkshire, the XPO-B&Q was on there last week but did have a closing date(can’t remember what it was).
The Gregory-Range one was advertised as tramping last time I saw that.
For Gregorys or GDL , all drivers have their own mobile phone app , which is given to them, its used to log your start and end of shift times while away from base, the app allows you to book holidays and days off and other admin.
If you have paid out parking from your own pocket, when back at base, all expenses have to be signed off by the planner or manager, then you submit how much it cost to park and enter that on to the computer that the drivers use when finishing the weeks work and back at base.
For buying stuff for the truck , for example windscreen wash , it’s better to get permission to buy it, then later submit your expenses, most overnight parking and truck washing is on their Snap account.
Like most firms, expect some normal chaos, like your trailer or truck not there when turning up for work , all vehicles are tracked and monitored including the trailers which have trackers.
