Bit of a random question. last year I had probably 3 “over hours” infringements due to being stuck in traffic etc. All of which appeared on my printouts at the bottom in the little section that tells you when you’ve been naughty.
2 of them have disappeared over time, but the other, oldest, one from last February is still there every time I do a print out. What is the criteria for it to beggar off?
Last time I had the card downloaded at the office their computer said the earliest entry on the card was May, as I did a lot of multi-drop last year, but that single entry from February is hanging round like a bad smell.
It doesn’t really bother me as I know it’s way outside the period VOSA would be interested in, but it’s just annoying to see it there when all the others have gone.
The only option I can think of is to wait until next time I get a few weeks of driving analog tacho’s and report the card faulty and get a new one done.
It will stay on there until it’s overwritten, Why the other two have been and that one hasn’t is down to the vagaries of the card. The usual way for it to be overwritten is when you do something else naughty. On my old card I had three naughty episodes showing at 6 monthly periods going back over two years, but nothing in the last 12 months after I got my act together. I used to look on it as we all make mistakes but not very often.
VOSA would be much more interested in a card which showed regular weekly or even daily infringements, your card is proof of good work practices

Listen to the main man…
My first attempt at using a digital card resulted in some corrupt calculations. We double manned to Le Havre which was a long disrupted journey. The shame of it, it stayed on my card until I broke that one
While it is printing press the OK button and you will get an option to cancel print. Just as it finishes printing the totals for the day press OK again. This will stop the printing at that point whereupon you can tear off the paper and not have a bottom section to niggle at you.
I usually go by option 1 but on the rare occasion a printout is needed to correct something I use option 2.
