The Graveyard

HI,John ,it looks like a ex Airospace trailor, Yours Barry

It is indeed an ex-British Aerospace stepframe.

I remember these being used around Warton, Preston & Samlesbury - pulled by D-cabbed Bedford TMs. There’s another one sat in a farm yard across the double roundabout from the entrance to the Leyland Trucks plant at Farington.

Hiya…ten out a ten…the trailer come from filton to hawarden and is now with a pal of mine,
apart from the floor the trailer is like new.
John

may i ask did it have airsuspension on the tag? hej benkku

That looks like an A,B, C and E series old and new type (bumper). All worthy of restoration.
Lets hope these ERFs are not left to rot. (previous page)

Paul

Hiya…i see the A series ERF and the scania are about the same age!!! i think the ERF looks in quite good condition.
maybe some would still want to try driving the scania.
John

Some thing different and easier, the Scania may look good converted in to a(Half cab) like the old Fodens, after all it is half way there, might get some comments on this!!!.regards Vic.

The Scania was good in a lot of ways, 1) half a cab, saving on weight 2)only short drivers allowed to drive it 3)less weight means less fuel so very economic 4)it only needs a certain amount of tyres 5) no need for expensive air conditioning (ideal for the middle east run) 6) no chance the driver will carry any passengers 7) the driver never needs to clean the windows, paint work or interior.
That’s all for now but I hope there will be more comments.Paul

here is what it may look like after being converted, but would only have half a sleeper. This one prepeared by my grandaughter,
maybe easier to do on photo than in real life, thanks to whoever posted the yellow Scania off the Scania thread. Vic
