The Graveyard

An ex Griffiths & Hartland of Hereford Bedford KM.

A once proud Atkinson.

That Atkinson is a Defender - not many left!

I drove a TK like that years ago Dave with a Leyland in it, it wasn’t a bad lorry to be honest.

John.

Hiya i would think their,s 20years hard slog to restore all that collection in the field.
will it get done… never…thanks for letting us see them Dave.

Hiya Dave…thanks to Tracey we know its her who dose the photo work been as things are.
If that KM is a double drive(looks like it is) i,am sure its a rare one of only about 50 made
by Bedfords…most of them was trailing axle conversions…Shirleys in Stoke had one that got the
Gas axe about 3 years ago.that one was ex royal navy.

I can’t recall Griffiths & Hartland running that one John. Will have to have another trip to that site and ask the owner a bit more about it.
Cheers Dave.

I’d put money on that being a trailing axle. Are you going to have a look, Dave?

Yes definitely a trailing axle if you blow the picture up you can see the link arm and that the rear axle has no halfshaft bolts!

I would say that this Bedford KM didn’t start life as a six wheeler, judging by the wheelbase.I would think it was a four wheeler with a trailing axle and bulk body added for use on a farm. The back end has RHM on it,unless Griffiths & Hartland were taken over by them.
Cheers Dave.

I saw these today in Blaenau Ffestiniog today.

Old constructor on Tilbury docks I saw yesterday.

Spotted these out on my travels last week.

Sorry about the crappy phone pictures. Better than nothing I suppose. The Foden had the remains of a Gardner Turbo badge on the grille, can’t be many of those left about… (I am happy to be wrong though)
