Can’t seem to post a PM to Matt re some truck mags I have for him. Will you please let me know why I can’t post to him. Maybe I am not into this new format and need some instructions. Liz

probably because they’re bigger than 800 x 600 which is the maximum size picture the board will take

Personally, I’m hoping that the tech guys can do a ‘whole site’ auto max pic resizing to 640 X 480 perhaps by using & manipulating the existing programme that does it for this sites avatars.

Why are images being cropped by Trucknet, this seems to be a bug.
Check the image in the op of this thread and compare the original image, the right hand side has been cropped even though the image is 800 x 600 (the allowed image size) 
This seems to have happened to images that are over sized too, instead of being scaled down to a width of 800px they’ve simply been cropped

Image problems
We have adapted the template for three forums ,Where am I, Photo and Old Timers as these are the image heavy forums, these can now “spread” to allow large images.
This will not be implemented on any other forums so dont bother asking
“Where am I” being missed off was an error by me, simply forgot about it apologies
Fare play to you for sorting that in the “Where Am I” forum so quickly Rikki

Well not quite I’m afraid
At the risk of seeming like a pain in the neck there does still seem to be a problem with the sizing of images in other forums.
If you look at this thread in Bully’s there are some good pictures and mostly 800px wide, but they’re being cropped to a width of approximately 765 px (checked in Photoshop)
Correct me if I’m wrong but I understand the maximum image size is 800 x 600px, In the thread I’ve linked to it doesn’t make any real difference to the overall picture, but having 35px cropped from the right hand side of some images could make a substantial difference to some images.
Sorry but there does still seem to be a problem with the site as far as images are concerned, if the site can’t handle images over 765px wide wouldn’t it be better for them to be scaled down rather than cropped.
There are 3 forums that by their nature are image heavy, those forums have been adapted to accept large images, To accept those images we have removed the advertising banners, this means all of the other forums are now subsidising them forums. We have taken the decision to allow those few forums to not contribute to keeping this site on line, in return we ask that youaccept on the other forums we have to maximise the revenue, There has to be some give and take here, we are doing our best to give some… but the members also have to give a bit too
The three forums that allow large images is as far as we are going to go
Don’t know if it’s a problem your end Rikki, but sometimes if I press the back button the previous web page has expired and internet explorer as to resend the information.
This only usually happens on secure web pages where money transactions take place .
That will happen if you use features like view latest topics, or view subscribed thread as they utalise the search engine to produce the lists and search every time you use that page/feature

I don’t use those features, I just go to individual forums and threads.
It mostly happens in threads with pictures.
