This was his Scania CG I have put it on before for you. I dont know why they are giving them older motors but my lad seems to think the manager wants all Volvos at Trafford Park :unamused:

Hello Stansfield
Thankyou for that excelent photo marra. Many thanks
Your son is right. Most of the depots now seem to be getting older Volvo’s when the Scanias are been replaced.
Most of the Scania’s now seem to be at the Tesco Distribution Centers rather than the medium sized depots.

I don’t think the people incharge of Trafford Park where that pleased when Stobart took all the Irlam DAF’s away.

Personally, I would rather see more Volvo’s in the fleet. Makes a change from all Scania’s.

Excelent photo revman.
PN11 LZP is called Sophie Elise (H6300), which is a Stoke based Scania R.

As for the trailer, there are around 30 Airport liveried trailers, with at least five based at most of the big depots.
Carlisle, Penrith, Appleton, Widnes & Crick all have a few of these trailers.

Most advertise Jersey & Dublin, with Algarve, London & Spain on some too.
Hope this is of interest/help marra

Apologies for crap pic, it was dark (usually is at 3am) and all I had on me was my phone.

Parked outside Iggesund in Workington, thought it’s not something you’d see everyday! Reg was W373 VNY, info on door said “X0022” and “Shunt Only”

Sorry, didn’t get details of the highline parked next to it, I was probably confusing Security enough already!

Hello dew
Not bad photos for it been dark and on your phone. Many thanks marra
And your right, its not something you see everyday.

W373 VNY (X0022) is a Scania 4 Series shunter, which used to be based up at Lillyhall.
They seem to have a Scania 92M up at Lillyhall now (not sure of the fleet number)

Never actually seen that one before but belive it shunts the Stobart trailers around the yard (Stobart have around 30 trailers at Siddick)
Your alright about the highline though. Its proberly one of the Lillyhall trio.

If your there again and get the opitunity too, that would be great (providing its their like).

Many thanks again dew

No worries mate.

Chances are it’s one I’ve seen before (I’m into Iggesund 3 times a week) as it seems to be the same trucks around the place. Never seen the shunter before, but I don’t go over the far corner where the trailers are kept. I’ve seen the Dock shunt moving trailers once.

By a Scania 92M, you mean a 2 Series one (aka Mid 80’s example?) I’d love to see that!

Hello dew
Thats exactly what it is. Its H228 and its called Enid Irene (in full old style ESL livery).
Never been able to get a photo of it but I recall seening it quite a few years ago. Its useally round that back up at Lillyhall

On your travels to Igguisund, do you ever seen the West Coast Commercials (Thompsons Plant Hire) Scania thats often pulling ESL trailers?
Its in Igguisund alot. Seems to shunt trailers from the Docks and their yard at Flimby upto Igguisund.

Many thanks marra

Hello
For those who have seen the Volvo FH16 (H4700) called Debby, you will be sad to know its been decomisioned in March.

It is rumered that Stobart are going to sell the truck at Auction to raise money for Cancer Research UK instead of its going back to Volvo.

I for one will be sad to see Debby go as its a smart beast. Only ever seen it once on the Motorway hence no photos.

Kindest regards
