The “Gold Plated” pontificating claptrap expressed by said person certainly put me and many others from joining in reminiscing ‘the good old days’ on this Forum. I was specifically employed by two of the UK engine manufacturers and one of the UK truck OEM’s, from 1960 onwards to the end of the 1990’s, precisely when these businesses went through a massive shakeout not only regarding their future product lines in the marketplace but their place, or not, in their respective markets. If Graham Edge reads this I could perhaps add an extra Chapter to his book, about LG&S, with info that Paul perhaps did not consider being of interest in the story of the business.
Perhaps he has retired to Gardner /ing

Gingerfold gave up on this thread about 30 pages ago. Given the title of the thread, which could just as easily be “Riding a three-legged hobby horse into a brick wall”, I don’t expect him or anyone else with things to contribute coming here. I propose a new thread: “The Sensible Engine Design Discussion”.
I understand that “CF” went back with Santa as he had a Reindeer that wasn’t going too well so “CF” was going to check it out as Santa,s Vet hadn’t got a clue !! So hopefully Santa got that pee’d off with “CF” that he kicked him off the Slay at 35,000 feet over Greenland !! All together now Ahhhhh! now now Lads stop cheering that’s not very nice is it ! Well I hope he isn’t recovering in the Seamans Mission ! The people that run the Missions are very tolerable but I can well see “CF” stretching their patience’s to breaking point ! So he could be at Knutsford Services with a bandage round his head “thumbing it” back to Leatherhead in the morning !
