Did he try a u-turn?
Needs to hand his licence in. That’s not just stupid over reliance on the prat nav, getting him into that position, means he has no idea what so ever…
Love the big it up headlines in the report…Massive, shocking ,dramatic ,horrific

If only everyone was perfect.
I ended up on the car park of an Asda store on Friday while trying to deliver, it is not alway obvious where the goods entrance is, these places should have signs.
I remember once deliverung to Coop and I had a stupid trailer with a steering axle, I could not find the lock and struggled to get it into the delivery bay. Took me ages. Once I got it in the guy who lived opposite came out and shouted at me as there was a entry through a side road and across the car park but I had no idea, that was pre sat nav.
Perhaps…
These two are related, like father like son?

Both are examples of panic and a complete lack of understanding of the physics of what they’re driving.
These kind of ■■■■ ups are completely avoidable.

And you would have thought he’d have been fine since he was wearing his hi viz whilst driving,.and not just an idiot vest but a full on clown suit.
No way on earth was that going to happen, just made a bad situation unbelievably worse.
Might’ve been the poor bugger’s first day, late, lost, panic an’ all that.
He wouldn’t be getting a second day with me though.

I agree to a extent, but if it’s going badly wrong or you sense it will do you stop , I today had a drop in Newcastle , got to turning but roadworks so no chance of turning ( I guess I could of gone for it with ensuing damage ) , I could of tried screwing it round and took out all the lampposts , couldn’t go back as cars backed up behind me , so I took the only option available , I went straight ahead through the bus lane ( awaits fine ) , it’ll cost me a fine no doubt but nothing is damaged
I won’t hang him for ending up there , there could be 101 reasons for that , only he knows why , but my feeling is he should of stopped , rang Asda , tell them the predicament he was in , but easy to say that when your not in that situation , same as me , you just have to do what you think is right at time
I see the government car to class 1 license change is going v well.
If I ever were to get in that position I’d reverse it back out but I’d wait for someone from the office. If I felt nervous I’d just say bring another driver I wouldn’t get the sack just maybe warming
I think it may be an ASDA unit but some of these incidents (bridge strikes etc), it is actually a contractor pulling the supermarket trailer.
You would think that once in the cul-de-sac, for whatever reason, assistance would be sought to reverse out, even if it is a reasonably sensible member of the public stopping the traffic.

Iv had the same thing happen to me, well similar im on a diversion carrying a 16,1ft trailer come to a roundabout im looking well ahead no low bridge sign on approach on the roundabout sign, look just as im the first vehicle no warning still, entering the new road no warning still, as i get the bridge HERE the warning 15,8ft I was well ■■■■■■ off but I blocked the road, behind me so the taxi had no choice but to give me hand signals and managed to get out of a tricky situation but the usual cars horning, cyclist not waiting same with delivery drivers
Till this day there no warning, I think maybe because its 15,8 bridge all the lower bridge it gives me warning from a good distance
Another report says as this was happening more lorries we’re coming up the road , always lorries coming up , sounds like a signage issue , locals saying they want signs up
