DAF95XF are you better off for worse off now money wise? I’ve got a feeling you’d be worse off, cutting your nose of to spite your face.
You seem like one of these types that like to get involved sticking your beak where it don’t belong. If you came in, got the head down, done a bit of graft you probably wouldn’t be in the position where you have more jobs than I’ve had hot dinners.
Always the companies fault or some transport clerks fault never your own fault.
Tesco is money for old rope doesn’t matter if you think it’s a ■■■■ company you are getting paid to do basically ■■■■ all when you compare it to other jobs. And if it wasn’t for the fact of this new contract i would jump at it.

It is a zb company though!

I don’t call lobbing heavy poorly stacked & dangerous cages getting covered in zb ‘basically zb’all’. There are far easier jobs out there driving better kit, paying more & getting less zb for it!

I got involved in nothing there, I did what was asked, even down to helping with the shunting etc except I wasn’t one for doing 15 hours every night, you don’t know why I left that place in the first place
I’m definitely better off where I am now - less than 1 mile to go to work, I know what I’m doing and when, and IF I was to go back truck driving then I have Wincanton right next door and another transport firm moving in the other side soon

PS-DAF95XF is bang on, telling it like it is!
If their that ■■■■ a company, what does that make other firms who don’t pay overtime, who don’t pay a bonus, who don’t pay into a decent pension for ya, who don’t offer cheap healthcare, who runt bent, who run with defective motors/trailers etc etc
I don’t get covered in ■■■■, I can’t even workout how m supposed to get covered in ■■■■■■? if a cage is dangerous it gets shifted with a pallet truck, that’s what I do anyway.
Daf95xf likes to think he knows what’s going on but I’d tell him to get a new contact coz he’s being fed duff info

They do pay overtime where I am.
selby newcomer:
who don’t pay a bonus
Incorporated into the basic which is higher than what tesco are offering so less bs about debrief, fleetboard & whatever other crap you lot are into!
selby newcomer:
who don’t pay into a decent pension for ya
We got a pension, you never know how good it really is until you need it so who knows, yours could be worth next to zb’all in future…
selby newcomer:
who don’t offer cheap healthcare,
NHS is good enough for me & I’m in good health partly because I don’t do zb work for the likes of zb outfits like tesco:grin:
selby newcomer:
who runt bent, who run with defective motors/trailers etc etc
Id rather ‘run bent’ than drive some zb’ty axor with a trailer battered to zb & can barely reach 50:shock:

Must be a blue eyed boy then:lol:. Cooking sauces, booze etc in bottles falls off cages as you shift them, waste that should/used to be disposed of in a better manner but now goes back on your trailers has bags that leak with zb that’s been stood for god knows how long, that’s how you get covered in zb:!:

I wasn’t on about who you work for specifically, I’m glad your firm pay overtime, every company should, but it’s a bit of a stupid comment to call tesco a ■■■■ firm to work for when they have a lot of benefits alongside a decent pay packet, the type of work involved ain’t to everyone’s taste and the way things are monitored ain’t to everyone’s taste either, but as I’ve said before if you’ve got your head screwed on there ways around that, like all jobs it has it’s faults but their nothing major imo

bit of a stupid comment to call tesco a [zb] firm to work for when they have a lot of benefits alongside a decent pay packet
Stupid comment or not it’s fact & that’s the bottom line!
Does tesco pay weekly…? No they probably don’t:lol:. Aldi guys are probably on more than you lot:lol:
By the way our core work doesn’t require us to even go into the trailer, they employ people to do that:shock:

No tesco dont pay weekly, its every 4 weeks, 13 pay packets a year, suits me down to the ground, ive not been paid weekly for years so it aint just tesco, the rate thats been said on this thread is the livingston dc rate, I dont work at that dc
Aldi may well pay better money but them boys have to load and tip their trailers so id hope they are on more money, all I gotta do is put cages to the backdoor of the trailer or on a tail lift and lower it, hardly strenuous work.

I’ve been at Tesco well over a year now and am still yet to be treated like [zb], I’ve seen quite a few drivers who think they can treat the clerks and others like [zb]
You must be one of the blue eyed boys:lol:
Drivers probably behave like that because they are treated like zb by clerks & managers in the first place:!:
I’m no blue eyed boy, I come in on time, I’m polite and just get on with it, there’s not a lot to moan about. Some think they can come in and tell the clerks what stores they are gonna do… Some drivers will moan that the coffee is too strong in the coffee machine, they don’t wanna go here and they don’t wanna go there, they’ll moan coz they ain’t got a 63 plate motor…I’m all for having your say if it’s a valid arguement but no matter how little some have to do, they wanna do less. As I said, I don’t mind them sort of drivers, they just increase my chances of getting a job I like

What am I missing then?
You comment about a company that you dont work for, you say this that and the other about a job you dont do, it would be like me slating stobarts and their drivers, I dont do it coz I dont know the ins and outs coz I dont work for them, Tesco is no oasis of peace and tranquility but its by far not the worst job in the world

So the Aldi boys use a pallet truck to tip and load, while you push and pull the full and empty cages off your trailer?

Professional attitude, there you have it in two words the type of man who understands you have to take good days with the bad ones the ones who get the job done without behaving like a spoilt child, the guys the do favors and get them in return and always have a positive approach and they understand what the word respect really means, a man to be relied upon.
On the other hand we have those with an unfortunate attitude, the ones who moan cry and whinge and who have a well rehearsed string of excuses for there own shortcomings where everyone else is to blame and seem to be constantly at loggerheads with the management, the ones that can’t find a decent job and wonder why thankfully they tend to eventually drift to the bottom end of the for profit market.
When I was driving I would hear of the antics of such characters and it would make me laugh, now I’m working in the office and experience first hand how utterly pathetic they are.

At our yard the other day driver A says to me " no overtime this week and driver b has had two days"
This week he’s been asked to do a three day job and he’s moaning he doesn’t want to work all week. You couldn’t make it up
