Temp jobs in SE Essex?

Hi Everyone

Does anyone know of any temp roles HGV 1/C+E in SE Essex?

I guess like most folks, my work (self employed non driving) has dried up and we have no money coming in.

I hope you are all well and safe.

Jesus Christ , have you not put any money away
For a rainy day
It’s unreal , that vast majority of lorry drivers are meant to be 50/60 so
Should of paid of house , pay for stuff in cash & have money saved
Yet you read this forum & if you believe
What people post 99% live week to week ,
Unbelievable , I just don’t understand what
Everyone’s doing with there money
It would make sense to have 5 days of cpc on
Finicial management by the look of the

Thanks for the reply.
A little bit about why I am where I am.
Two years ago, I was made redundant from a non driving job. I took what money we had saved etc and put it into ramping up a small business my wife had been running, so I could also join her and become self employed. We needed new equipment, transport etc. We managed to do it without a loan or additional financing.

Over the next two years, we worked really hard. The business grew and was doing ok. We were paying the mortgage, bills and putting some money away for tax bills, depreciation etc. We started to service a number of industries… wide and varied.

We had a short, medium and long term strategy for our business, with financial targets and markers.
Fast forward to today, every single one of the industries we serve and venues where we trade at are no longer trading and are closed as per government guidelines. They are various… restaurants, hair salons, dog groomers, garden centres, farmers markets, carpenters … the list is exhaustive. It does not matter what I do right now, I don’t have their business, nor can I get it.

No one could have seen this coming.

I have held a HGV Class 1 since 91 and made sure my ADR and CPC are up to date. When things have got tough in the past, I have always looked to go drive. Thankfully, things have mostly seemed to turn themselves around in/at my time of need.

This is not about my financial mismanagement or inability to manage money.

In order to be financially stable, I took a risk to invest in my own business venture. Which was doing ok. However, in light of recent events, the whole country is on its knees, looking for the opportunity to climb out of this dark recess.

My goal, is now to try to pay my bills, look after my family and workout how the hell I get my business back on track ASAP.
As the title of my post states, I am looking for a temp role in SE Essex. Let me know if you have anything constructive to add.

Cheers

You put All you savings into a buisness , so again you left nothing for a rainy day , i could
Of bought a bloody Bentley for the Mrs but she got a fiesta st . I own a 4 bed detached but could of bought a 6 bed , but that savings had been saved for a rainy day , it
Was drummed into me to save so you’ve money for that rainy day , redundancy , short time etc
I just think it’s crazy not to put a % of your wages away for times like now , & then to
Do that ( save money as you seem to have done ) then chuck the lot into something
Be it a house , car , buisness is just reckless to say the least
I listened to my dad , he drummed Save , put money away , it was bloody hard at times but I’ve always saved , it just disturbs me we’ve had 2 days of lockdown , not a week, month & it’s looks like 99% on here can’t survive 2 days without money , 2
Bloody days ,
I let you lot get on with it , I’ll not say another word , but if you don’t
Want to take advice to put money away & leave it there for a rainy day I hope
You lot don’t come on here pleading poverty the next time we have a hiccup in
The economy

Don’t worry about Dozy…

His digs are free thanks to the zoological society.

Hand to mouth was an appropriate comment from him actually as to be fair he does that on the daily here.
Routine is, scratch, banana, scratch, grunt, banana…
and that’s as far as evolution has taken him for today atleast, sadly and on occasion he throws a turd at the glass, and it seems today’s that day.
So don’t be perturbed, instead just toss him another banana over the wall and he’ll hopefully wonder off an carry on scratching his primal for your viewing pleasure at the next pane till he’s running short again [emoji106]

He’s not all bad though are ya dozy [emoji6][emoji8]

As for work, best of luck fella, MANY in the boat sadly including myself, sorry I can’t help but all I can say is maybe hit your local council up as they be needing some hands on deck for a bit untill hopefully this blows over.

Are there any supermarket RDC’s within a commuting drive of where you live?
If there is I’d suggest seeing who the agency’s are around them and sign up (PAYE)

There appears to be tons of work on agency for supermarket in the area, you choose your shifts and we’ll give you the work keeps coming up.

An agency or two are asking for class 2 on Royal Mail at Romford as temp currently.

I’m likely to be furloughed next week so on 80%, if I could find something that guarantee I’d be better off by working I’d be interested but I’d have to put faith in the agencies that it was all true. If you have nothing else to go on you should be fine.
