TE160 Prohibition notice

One of our vehicles has been issued a TE160 notice due to an allegedly defective VU. The VOSA inspector couldn’t download it but it is recording all activities correctly.

VOSA bod told driver he was ok to finish the tour (yes we are coaches) but it needed to be put into a tacho centre to have the VU rectified.

Spoke to our TM and he says that if it is a tacho related prohibition we have 7 days to rectify the problem.

Is he correct? I was under the impression that a TE160 was an “immediate” prohibition?

As far as I can see a TE 160 is an immediate prohibition, It needs to go to the tachograph centre before starting another trip in my opinion.
