two more from me:

Not quite tippers but presume this may be of interest here, looks like it may be Eastham

Here’s some of the Bayston Hill trucks from a few years ago…

Alan Pritchard’s in the stockfield at Bayston Hill

This was part of a photo shoot for Tarmac World, i organised, featuring some of the best of our trucks at the time…

One of the smartest at the time in my opinion, Chris Middle’s “Tubtrotter”, the unique six wheeler…

That’s a good old photo sniffy.I used to go into a tank farm at Eastham called Pak Tanks but always thought Philmac were around E. Port area?

Graham Wilden’s Foden A917 HAJ, tipping off a load of Potton Sand, pictured at Old Cliffe Hill Quarry, 1989, to the left is the “E” Plant, mixing asphalt for the M40 that we were building at the time…

Lots of nice photos, the M40 job brings back some memories. We could do with another job like that now couldn’t we.

Hello TARMAC, how many of these lads are still operating? I used to go to Bayston now and again, bringing stuff back for Pant. Haven’t been down there in ages.

I have posted some pics of Tarmac tippers on Photobucket. Some old Rowley motors. Tek a look…

Can only see the bottom one mate. Perhaps you could copy paste the image code onto a new posting and display the pics as a post instead of a link?

This was a view from the Coated Plant at Tarmac Corby, about 1988 of the Weighbridge area, Corby Works was closed about 1994 after we had finished building the A14 A1/M1 Link…

Fred Dulson is still here (runs an 8 wheeler Volvo now, the artic went to Stowfield), AKP & Tony Pugh went a few years ago, Kev Castle now has 4x at Bayston, Dave Pink is a Central Heating Engineer, Martin Kelly in TAR931 is, as is Jim Clark…lorries are not as nice as they were in this era !

Here’s the pics that chopchop tried to post on here yesterday. (A swift PM remedied things. )
I’m sure you’ll agree they are all classics, especially the ergos. :sunglasses:

Cracking line up mate! :sunglasses:

I can remember Philmac bringing bitumin this way for the tar plants at Waterswallows and Topley Pike though by the late 70s they had moved onto Sed Ak artics.

Is this lad starting young or what?! :open_mouth: Looks about 14!

BonkeyDollocks:

This is a brilliant photo, very atmospheric.

Is this spaghetti junction? Perhaps Southbound heading towards where the RAC building is?

A few more pics from chopchop that he passed to me earlier.
