Hi Kevmac47
Just been reading about the ERF restoration in the January Heritage Commercial mag.Must say you did an excellent job there mate its a credit to you both.
I’d second that, John - the motor is absolutely spot-on. Also, having heard it growling its way over Shap, and out of Kirkby Lonsdale and other places, I can tell you that it sounds the business too!

Eyecatching to say the least, do the mirrors look a bit on the chunky side?

I was like a fish out of water when I went on tankers after two years on steel and a year on market work, soon got into it though, especially the money.I saw a tanker job advertised in Rotherham when I was with Winc, might have been Greenline, were they at the side of the canal ? If so Winc were running the job, around mid 2000s.
Ye that’s the place opposite Bailey house running a couple of scanias now did bloomers run out of there alan

No Alan,Bloomer never ran out of there.I was getting right p***** off at Winc Maltby and saw this job in the paper.I wrote to them, sure it was Greenline, but never got a reply so never chased it up,maybe they found out I was a Winc employee.Anyway things improved a bit at Maltby so I stayed where I was.
Chris Webb:
Their tanks are shipped to the Isle of Man John, presumably with bitumen. What’s the history of Nynas, did they take another tanker company over?
Nynas have a refinery in Dundee. It was Briggs Amasco before Nynas took it over.I`m not sure if the tankers are theirs or Harry Lawsons. He used to run everything out of there.

Hi Gridley.Aye,it was William Briggs I think at one time.I only ever went in there once to deliver some pet spirit from Wath on Dearne.I remember all the tankers in there were from Broughty Ferry,in the 70s.

Hi Chris Was the place at Bury called Tetrosol, they were just at the side of the M66 and produce products for the car industry (car spray paint)Sadlers used to deliver into there place with products for making thinners.

Hi John.
The M66 wasn’t built but I used to go to Tetrosyl in Bury regularly. It was through the town.Used to come back with cab full of different sprays - easy start, paint etc…The other place at Bury was Donald MacPherson Paints going into Bury on the A56 through Prestwich.
