New Sed-Atki in build.

Has anyone got any pics of any BOC Sed-Atki Strato day cab tractors, they had a fleet of them the same as we did on Air Products but ours were all sleeper-cabs. I took some pics of theirs when I was out-based out of BOC Fawley all lined up looking smart, but sadly have mis-laid them over the years :frowning:

R Rankin & Sons, anyone know what he’d have been carrying or who for?

I remember Rankins did some work out of Velva Liquids South Shields and they also ran crude tar into Dorman Long/BSC Chemicals at Port Clarence,Teeside. The motors were double shifted, the tar came out of the BSC coking plants like Consett,Hartlepool,Redcar,South Bank,Cleveland and a privately owned one called Randolph not far off the A1.I’m sure they did ICI work out of Billingham and Wilton as well.
I think it’s a pet spirit tank in the photo, although A E Evans had one similar for tar work,a one-potter, equipped with a cargo pump as opposed to a compressor.
Some nice photos there Chris, got any more?

Aye,don’t let her get up there or everything will go missing Chris.
I forgot to mention that Rankins eventually became Cleveland Tankers I think, there will be somebody on here to confirm that.

Hi 900X20, didn’t think of that, thanks. I think it adds to a photo if you know what a wagon was carrying & where it went etc.
Regards Chris

What did that Judge say “The Law is an Arse”, never let common sence get in the way :unamused:

I remember that company when it was Bush,Boake and Allen. We had a regular job out of their Rainham site, taking “Turpinella” to their place in Widnes, think it was Tan House Lane, close to Fiddlers Ferry power station.Because it was so greasy and stunk to high heaven we used to reload crude benzene on top to kill the smell and get rid of the grease, out of BSC Shotton for either Llanwern or Scunthorpe.

Hoyer, the German logistics group have bought De Rijke of Holland and will take on all the depots and drivers. This only affects the liquids division.

HOYER is taking on all 240 employees of De Rijke at its five European offices: Göteborg in Sweden, Preston Brook in the UK, Moerdijk in the Netherlands, Le Havre in France and Piacenza in Italy. The deal also brings with it 1,500 tanker containers, 130 tractors and 300 tanker trailers and chassis.

Spotted these in Cape Town about six months ago and I thought that the name Marineslops was an Afrikaner company, I have only just realised that they were probably emptying out the bilge tanks on the ships.

Regards Steve.

Another British manufacturer bites the dust - Clayton’s are in the hands of the recievers, next few weeks will see if it gets an investor/buyer and stays in business or disappears completely !

Do you think there is a vague possibility that tank has been rolled at some time in its life! :open_mouth:
