Having read a few posts about TM’s taking the (zb), I met a driver with similar idea’s today (may well be from another planet)…
… picture the scene - I started on “standby” with another driver which normally lasts from 4am until some time between 6-7am, since the pay is minimum 9 hours it can be good - or you can be sent out at 7am and have a long day. Nearly half five and we are looking good to finish when another driver comes in…
“Traffic says will one of you swap with me because I have a run in a rigid and I hate rigids?”
Hmmmm potentially go home in 40 mins or do a run that you can’t be arsed to do? It’s a toughie. Needless to say there were no volunteers, I was too gobsmacked to say what I thought - and traffic obviously knew what the answer was going to be… … …
Ended up being asked to do some shunting (my first time) which was great practice and a bit of a change in pace compared to doing store runs !!!
