Ok the wagon in question has got two serious leaks on both sides of the hydralic rams (drawbridge type).
My supervisor has been putting in the hydrolic oil himself ,and has asked me to top it up,which i have done,
Now i,m not sure if i,ve broke any laws here as taillifts are covered by LOLER Regs and i,m not a trained fitter or mechanic!
So i,ve refused to top it up anymore because if it fails fully laden would i be responsible if an accident occured!
The supervisor,s not happy ,but you got to look after number 1.
Have i broke any laws i don,t know but if i don,t touch it .it can,t be my fault when it fails!

you use it knowing its faulty , your at fault when things go poop, ask your supervisor for a note to say it is safe to use , tell him to sign and date it and explain that you will be using said note to sue him when you get injured . I suspect it will be repaired pdq
Has anyone actually defected it β¦and as for

so if your motor is low on oil and water on your PUI do you get a fitter out
Your using the vehicle and youβve been shown how to check and top up required fluid levels and thatβs enough. it also falls on you and any driver to complete a PUI (Pre Use Inspection ) of the vehicle and note any and all defects. ( another good reason that if you find a defect Report it and note it in your diary making a note of the defect sheet No if there is one and who it was reported to at date and timeβ¦
done the right thing apart from driving it with the defect, im agency mostly but had full time not long ago stuck it 3weeks cos they didnt get the jobs done even at 28grand a year just walked away mate dont take this β β β β on my license, most of these back street outfits try it on and even the bigger ones have with me, not on my license is my answer after all avenues exhausted, as soon as you say sign this defect then and i"ll be off, ha, needless to say they wont so it stays put, another one is just take it this once i get it booked in bullshitters and i see right through em vosa want youuuu
You find that a vehicle tail lift does full under LOLER regs and should be examined every 6 months and recorded, plus you might find that its part of the daily checks, question you need to find out is when was the last inspection and is it over due for oneβ¦
