Oh lol! So you can put a tag under a tipper no problems then

No more problems than with any other trailer mate. Chassis neck designs vary so some are more prone to snagging the rear mud wings than others, but no more with tippers than anything else.

When I see my mate then ill tell him he is full of [zb] and he can run a tipper with his scania tag instead of running it solely with his step frame. Thanks for the info roger

Well if he’s got his own motors there’s probably another reason why he doesn’t run them together maybe? Don’t say that I said he was full of [zb]! How big a bloke is he?:wink:

Fairly big! Lol he’s got two units, both scania one 4 series the other an R, now he bought the R cab to retro fit with a hiab, 6x2 midlift and he always said to me that he couldn’t run a tipper trailer on the 4 series because it was a tag and there would be issues with traction and handling issues is that the case? Or can I tell him to stop being a tight arse and pucker up for a nice tipping trailer?

One for export

Loving this thread, Mat!

Funnily enough I was looking through a Commercial Motor today from several weeks ago, and came across this rare beast!0
My first thoughts were that it was an ex-Croome drawbar that’d been shortened and had the Hiab fitted, and I guess also converted to a unit. Although I’ve not been able to find a picture of an old Croome Eurotrotter to compare the colours.

Also, I posted this here a year or so back. It was in ‘Trucking’ magazine, and has TWO tag axles! …or maybe two midlifts

that volvo is an ex Martin Oliver

In case anyone hasn’t noticed, this is photoshopped, its a midlift with the middle wheel ‘copied and pasted’

Ahh, of course! I can see it now, thanks for that! It was still bothering me from time to time
