Tacho rules when being recovered

Are you supposed to leave the digi card in while you are being towed back to base. You are in the passenger seat of the recovery vehicle

No manual entry to cover the other work.

You can do, it doesn’t really matter, the tachograph won’t record any driving as the recovery driver will have taken the axle halfshaft out so it will just show as “other work”.

Who in any normal circumstances would even have that thought in their mind

Off the wall over the top that wouldn’t even give any driver a second thought
Stupid question there is no mileage on the truck
Just confusing the issue with over the top question that you probably thought up while putting other work in digital tachograph because you had to stop to go the toilet
Stick to driving the truck in a straight line because its seems that’s the only sensible thing you know

Personally I’ve always ejected the card then filled it in with a manual entry when I’ve put my card in next.

And yes it can be break or POA whilst sat there as passenger and doesn’t have to be other work.

Ok,thanks for the replies

I have no idea about this. (I drive a Scania and it never breaks down)
