Tacho question.

So here’s the scenario; I start work at 0600 and finish at 1800, the next day I start at 0400 (reduced break obviously) and finish at 1800. Now I would’ve thought that that was 2x reduced breaks but a fella I was talking to was adamant that as the reduced breaks happened on the same day it in fact only counted as one. He was so sure I started to doubt myself. Who’s correct here?

Oops, wrong forum. Can someone move it please?

It’s two reduced daily rest periods.

The idea of two reduced daily rest periods counting as one because they occurred on the same day is one I haven’t heard before

Your mate isn’t correct but at-least he’s original

edit: Just to add that the reason it has to be two reduced rests is because a new period of 24 hours begins when you’ve completed a daily rest period, days don’t come into it.

Thanks Tachograph. I was pretty sure that was the case tbh, but he had me doubting myself. Obviously he’s wasted as a driver, with his sales talents and tacho knowledge I feel a career in DCPC training beckoning for him!

I agree he’s definitely a DCPC trainer in the making, his courses may be nonsense but I bet they’d be entertaining
