Found out today after a download that my digi Tacho is recording UTC time 2 hours adrift although local time (which now should be showing the same as UTC) is correct. Its booked in to have it sorted next week but do I need to record anything on print outs in the meantime?
I know it records in UTC, not local time so all recordings will be 2 hours adrift!
Can’t you change it like changing local time? When I’ve changed mine there’s an option to change utc time but I didn’t try to change it but wouldn’t of thought it was there if you couldn’t.
If you don’t know how to change your tacho time just google there’s a YouTube video.
If the UTC time is more than ± 20 minutes out it’s an offence to drive the vehicle other than to take it to a tachograph centre.
I’ve no idea how the DVSA view the offence, but if you’re stopped they’re bound to want to know how it’s got to be 2 hours out without anyone noticing.
As long as they’re able to check compliance with the regulations my guess would be that they would issue an Offence Rectification Notice, but that is only a guess.

You can only change the UTC time by 1 minute per week, so yes the OP could correct the UTC time but it would take him 120 weeks
Ha ha every days a school day as they say

You can only adjust UTC in one minute increments, up or down, once in seven days.
Are yo sure it’s the UTC that’s out and not the local time? Could someone have tried to change it when the clocks changed and then another person had come along and also changed it?

As was pointed out already if you’d bothered to read the rest of the thread I’d already acknowledged him

Nope, its definitely UTC that’s out, you can see it on printouts and on the download data on the PC screen.
Local time as displayed on the display is as it should be.
it sounds like the time offset may have been programmed in wrongly…It should be set +1 hour though some leave it at 0 …maybe it is set at -1 etc…Or possibly the tacho is faulty

Its a strange one for sure. Motors only 6 months old too and we’re the first users of it. Still, its in the tacho centre on Wednesday to be sorted.
Thanks for the input fellas.
If that new then I reckon the offset is set wrong .as I’m guessing it has only been noticed since the clocks moved…offset is a 2 min job …but unfortunately it requires a total recalibration as clock is more than 20 mins out …If it is the offset then you can argue the case against paying if it is at the original centre who did the original calibration …will they be honest and admit a fault …I don’t know …if a different centre is checking the fault and they say it is the offset ,you would have to pay them then take it up with the original calibration centre
