For which countries are T1 and T2 documents are needed? For a load from uk to Austria what goods related documents should be carried? Is Cmr more than enough? Thanks in advance.
Been ret.14yrs but I would think Austria would be ok on cmr unless you are taking goods in from a non ec country.t1&t2 documents should only be required when going to non ec countrys[I THINK] hope this is correct and helps.
regards dave.
Yes, Austria not a problem with just cmr. Generally T forms are used for permanent export and import to countries outside EU countries (Swiss, Turkey, Norway, etc. ).

Agreed. CMR for EU country to EU country.
T1 and T2(etc) for exporting from EU. Which T form it is depends on what the goods are.
When going from UK to Switzerland we were always on T forms. When heading the other way, sometimes we were on T forms to Dover where we’d clear and other times we would clear in to the EU at Weil am Rhein, get our CMR stamped and have no T forms and no customs clearance in Dover. I always wondered why there were two different ways?
Thanks guys for such prompt reply . Where can I buy blank cmr when not in uk? What does it cost in Euros? I was wondering what passport control and customs control will be like between Germany and Austria, due to migration crisis. It seems both countries had controls [passport and customs] till November 2nd 2015. But no info on extension available. Any ideas?
The best way ist to download a CMR in the web for free…
Or you can buy the CMR Notes online …there are a lot of different pages…

The best is to download or buy the CMR Note before you start your tripand take it with you…to buy a cmr somewhere on the road wouldn´t be easy…maybe at a few office stores in the towns…i´ve never seen a motorway service or truckstop in europe where they sell it…
When loading at the collection points, the offices there sometimes have their own Cmr`s , but do not rely on them to supply a Cmr .Some do not have them, the customs like to see the Cmr when stopped on the road to verify what the load is.
I’ve ran out on the road a few times, just asked another driver for a couple, in exchange for a few beers. just cross out the name of the company and fill out your own

I’ve wondered the same thing, but never got around to investigating.
Procedures going through the 2 Basel Borders will have changed a bit from your last trip I expect.
France to Swiss on Ts. Park up, make a note of your milage, walk to the Swiss building. Print off your road tax slip (orange card), present T forms and tax to the Swiss. They’ll scan the bar codes, write T x number of T forms, sign and give you them back. Walk back to your truck, drive to the check booth, hand over Ts and tax for a check n get them back. Drive. Ignore the French, they don’t get involved.
Germany to Swiss on Ts. Drive into the border lanes and to the German booths, hand over Ts, get them back. Drive to Swiss booths, hand over Ts, pick up large sized tablet computer whatsit, complete road tax slip stuff on that, it has a card scanner built in. Whilst you do this Swiss customs have scanned your Ts, take back your Ts and tax slip. Drive.

Yes sounds much different. My last time to Swiss was March 2009 and we always crossed in at Weil. Lots of queuing, then park up, do the road tax on the way to the agent, hand in papers, wait, wait, wait, get papers back, take some of it to the Germans, some of it to the Swiss and then back to the truck and proceed to the gate and hope not to get pulled in to the yard for inspection by that Swiss citizen of Filipino origin who made the ■■■■’s look friendly.
I’m assuming the new system is like here in North America where the paperwork is sent to the customs agent and cleared in advance and tied in to the bar code on the T-form and you turn up at the border, they scan it, see its cleared and that’s about it.

Agreed. Poorly worded on my part.
Surprisingly, we used to use T1 / T2 for Morocco (along with the occasional TIR carnet). Robert
I have delivered to Turkey and Albania and most distant countries on T forms before now.
If i remember correctly so I stand to be corrected-
T1 is for the exports/imports
T2 is for transit e.g.Switzerland

After the Swiss border it still has to be cleared by an agent.
We use several different agents, some have an office on the border but we usually use their offices further into Switzerland where possible.
Switzerland is strange. The load has to be at the agents premises before it can be cleared. It can’t be cleared before we reach the border, or even in transit between the border and the agent, going strictly by the rules.
On T forms it’s the same coming into the UK, technically.
