Anybody done class 1 multidrop work for TPN? Spoke to a guy about a job and the hours and money seem ok just wondering if anyone has any experience of this network?

You don’t work for TPN; you work for a local ‘spoke’ company. They’re all separate companies. Round my way the spoke is Eezehaul in Crawley; I’ve done a few days’ work for them through agencies. They have a habit of booking drivers then cancelling them or switching them to totally different jobs after they’ve accepted. Also, their night runs pay something like £100 for up to 12hrs, which is well below par for night class 1 work in the south-east. Trucks are OK though – fairly recent DAF CFs and Merc Axors. Other outlets may behave differently.
I would imagine they’d be like working for any other pallet network. Mostly Monday to Friday, home every night and fairly decent start and finishing times. Expect to be delivering pallets well in excess of 1 ton off your tail lift. Although I’ve heard there is a big push with some of the networks to have a 750kg Max pallet weight introduced. Not before time if you ask me.

tpn main hub is in Birmingham and smallerhub in Walton Summit Preston, where are you based
The main reason I’m going for it is for the slightly more social working hours and hopefully a little bit more exercise ie pushing pallets up and down with pump truck as I’m doing general haulage at the min sat at rdc places for hours on end bored ■■■■■■■■■■ It’s in glossop the one I’m hopefully starting at went and spoke to them a few days ago and seem very genuine and sound people.
as indigojo says you won’t be employed by tpn you will be employed by an independant transport company that is part of the network

They certainly do. The TPN depot I was paying for near Scarborough was paying £10 per hour on nights for their night trunkers. Someone at that depot needs to be having a word about rates.
Saying that there were a few blinged up big Volvos with kids driving them at the hub who were probably happy getting £500 a week. Rest of them mostly seemed to be retired blokes or blokes not far off retirement who seemed happy getting paid to have a kip.
Days is “local” collection and multidrop and you tend to cover an entire postcode prefix. Glossop area shouldn’t be too bad. The YO postcode though that the depot I was at covers a massive area. You’ll probably have 8 to 10 drops and a few collections. Figuring out what order to load stuff in for the route is the hardest part of the job to learn when you first start.
I work for a company that’s part of TPN. I average 10 drops per day, hardly any handballing of goods. Mostly businesses and the odd private address. Easy as anything and it gets routed for you, apart from the odd hiccup it seems to be routed well. Last on 1st off from the back to front. Anything else I can help you with?
Cheers guys. Bigvern1 thanks for the info what is your average finish time? Or should I say what’s the latest you’ve finished? I’m starting at 8am.
