Like virtually every truckstop I’ve used, I’ve never bought food here, but stopped for break here often as it’s convenient. Sainsburys haven’t expanded into it yet…
the trouble is doing that they have no chance of making a living and keeping going !

The reason for me doing that though Denis is that I bring food with me from home as it’s much cheaper, and If you look at the E-coli vans in the Oxford area you’d understand why…

can’t argue with either of those reasons, it’s just a chicken and egg situation with improvements to truckstops !

That is true, but they have to improve to get the clientele back so the egg and chickens role is reversed.
I used to run with a BP fuel card and my favourite stop was the A1 BP next to Kates Cabin, they had clean toilets, decent shop, coffee, sandwiches and a bank. The trouble is there was no parking so many drivers used Kates for their break. I have only eaten in there once since about 1978 for a similar reason as avoiding Swindon
Why don’t the owners of that place wise up and get some tidy grub served, instead of the crap they put on the plate.I haven’t been in there for five years, and judging by the comments on here I haven’t missed anything.
Try not to look at the frying pan/wok behind the counter, about a gallon of oil in it, the old gert behind the counter dropped an egg in it, thats the last you see of the egg til she turns up 5min later with a fishing net to find it. Errrr cup of tea please…

If it’s the same old cow that was there a few years ago, she had a face like the back of a bus, and the personality of a rattle snake.
