In there only the other day (Friday) still awfull. I have no idea how they can charge £15! Who on earth would to eat let alone shower(oh i forgot they were broken) there. Least the supermarket is close. Try to only go in if i need fuel these days.

Even the rats give it a very wide berth, Crap food Crap service and the Crap bread you get with everything you order is cut way to thick and if you attempt to bite into it you may be spitting out quite a bit of porcelain
I thought the bread was the only thing edible. At least it’s real bread and not that plastic.

Maybe they have. That’s why it’s such a dump. No competition when everywhere else is a dump.
Motorway services are dumps. Charge a fortune to park and can only offer fast food or pre-cooked, re-heated slop that’s travelled hundreds of miles then left to dry out under infrared lights.
I stopped parking in here about 3 years ago after a very crap meal, served by something that looked like it had just used the in-house showers. A shower what I felt more dirty after I came out and a sleep continually broken by other vehicles movements and trailer changes all night.
A recondition is well over due, to every thing what is in that Truckstop whether it move’s or not. It’s definitely something when even the rats refuse to go there!!!
And a bloody shame as said earlier as it is in a prime place and has the potential to be great Truckers Rest. Someone should send T&D back in there so they can do a review of it.
Much prefer Silveys down at J17 (Chippenham), genrally tidy and the food is good. And its not a rip off.

I usually park in one of the hardstand layby’s on the 350 just outside Chippenham. Advantag I have though is I dont feel like cooking I just phone up one of my aunties and they come get me… lmao

I parked there a couple of weeks ago as i was unloading in Swindon the following morning, after parking the driver parked next to me warned me about the food but as i had a voucher i thought i would risk it and ordered cheese on toast thinking you cant go far wrong but somehow they did, the toast was burnt (black) and the cheese was greasy and tasted horrible i ate one slice and complained but they seemed to think it was perfectly alright to serve burnt food and seemed quite shocked that i comlpained!!!
Also when i was there the toilets were disgusting with rubish and toilet paper all over the floor one of the toilet seats was smashed off there was excrement and graffetti on the walls also two of the showers were out of order due to vandelism which can not be blamed on the owners but on the people using the place i can not understand why drivers abuse facilities in this way and it is not just Swindon truckstop that has this problem WHY?

i dont know either, but i do know this freightliner put a door with a key code on to stop outside drivers abusing the toilets and now there is a portacabin with a toilet for them to use and that has been smashed up, a big hole in the booted through the wall graffetti all over the place.
thing stupid thing is the drivers using it are slagging each other off on the grafetti using their names… newell and wright drivers.
Every time I see the title about Swindon Truckstop or Ross on Wye I think at last, someone has caught Legionella or Salmonella and the Environmental Health have stepped in and firebombed these places like a Wako seige.
But no, there are still supposedly sensible drivers, using these “facilities”, paying them money and even accepting massive price hikes.
the only good thing about swindon is the fact that theres a sainsbury’s next to it where you can stock up on your supplies and get a decent,cheap meal in the restaurant in the store,then leave

Your right there m3ter but if it was rebuilt and then run by the same people, they would soon drag it it down to the same [zb] it is, I would starve rather than risk eating in there.

Should Tesco be allowed to close Swindon Truckstop?

Well altitude the idea was fire-bomb it while the owner (woman) was inside it !!
Wheel nut I wish Tesco’s could take it over but with a huge Tesco’s just 2 miles away I can’t see that happening!
My company has an account their so i am glad i dont have to pay for it, and i can happily say i have never eaten there.
went there one day and the floor in the bogs had lifted and ever time i put my foot down some water would bubble up from the edge of the flooring next to the wall. gruesome!!
Like virtually every truckstop I’ve used, I’ve never bought food here, but stopped for break here often as it’s convenient. Sainsburys haven’t expanded into it yet…
My main complaint is that despite parking well away from anyone else, why do foreign drivers park next to me and yell gibberish for MY 45 minutes, or an amateur driver has to take a dozen attempts at both uncoupling and coupling his trailer when swapping JOHN RAYMOND TAKE NOTE PLEASE
