Hi mate,

I think you have the name correct, cos I seem to remember them.

I guy I knew was a TM for them, and IIRC, they ran (mostly?) flatties out of Burtonwood Airfield.

Sorry, but I have no pics of Swindell’s. :frowning:

Here you go - also had a nice fleet of 88s & 86’s ,depot was in the old aircraft hangers near Burtonwood services off the M62

Tony you are the man and that is the exact Volvo picture I was after  My uncle bought this unit and repainted it, will try and get a photo. Many thanks

Aye I remember Swindells Transport their depot which is now long gone on the M62 near the services, I did a couple of return loads for them, They made us wait about 3 months for the money but it was there in the end, I recall one of their drivers tipping at The Bradford Press on Hallings, He had a problem with his old F 88, He was a day man a real canny lad, Of course he didn’t carry the old flask like I Did, So I made him a cuppa & shared my jam & bread bait with him as any old driver would have done in those days, I didn’t get his name but if he is on this great Thread perhaps he may remember Old Larry with the Roadtrain with a load of reels of paper, This was 1988/9, Regards Larry.

Hiya the old chap in his 80’s in the 1980’s was mr Swindles the old man. he used to deliver reels of paper into
Metal Box, Clayton Manchester with the F88 and later a F10. i think the 88 was ?LV 13P if i remember.
