Supermarket van delivery driver

the maoster:
Tesco home delivery will not deliver to my house since I took the keys off the driver and made him sit in my garden shed whilst I unloaded the van in five minutes and then took 2 hours to return his keys and paperwork!

Brilliant!

lolipop:
Not a job I would fancy with any of the supermarkets, especially when I see them still running about on Saturday and Sunday evenings after 20.00 hrs (8.00 pm)

Fair point but that doesn’t mean every single person doing it will be working on those days or times. As I put above my shift pattern was Mon, Tues, Thurs and Fri 9-7. They vary across the board depending what vacancies and hours need filling and there was always opportunities to drop shifts and/or pick up alternatives when they became available.

If you want to work odd shifts in the week just go agency.

You will get paid more than doing van deliveries. And you can pick and chose what you do.

My lad works for Tesco on home delivery.
As mentioned parking is a problem, especially in centre of Manchester, deliveries to apartment blocks and businesses (Tesco’s are cracking down on this)
Shifts all over the place, managers who don’t care about your safety, my lad just rings Egertons directly to get defects repaired.

Never mind bored housewife’s, he says the problem is the scallys who can’t be bothered going to the shop for their ciggies and then ring up and try and claim they never received them!
