Sunday night or early Monday morning going to work

9 hours is simply not enough to have a shower, prepare a meal, have some social time with the family at home then up at silly o’clock or up with the sparrows as the saying goes.

It’s like every other thing in this job mate, if drivers are daft enough to comply with no complaint, they will carry on doing it…it aint rocket science.
If it aint a hardship to you then crack on,.but it wouldnt be for me personally.

Can you imagine the planner who gave you it finishing at 5pm and being ok with coming back in at 2am to work?..nah me either.

The planner will be sat at home polishing his pointy shoes.

I had one lass planner that she booked a load of wood from the docks, I told her ten times I won’t make it legally, she then pipes up with that she has told the customer I will be arriving at 18.00 and he will make a concession to stay on late just for me, I won’t make it I said again, I can only get there the next morning.

Just 3 random weeks from this year’s diary

I used to tramp , and Euro work 2 weeks away, but now, 10am starts, no more than 10 hours as agreed with planners including break, very rarely home after 8pm unless traffic or loading delays which can’t be planned for winding down, soon be 4 days a week Rob. And if over 13 hours , which is very rare, i will have 12 hours before coming into work, and if we go over 15 due to accidents, delays or breakdowns, we get the next working day off paid!

@paddythelorrydriver

Hopefully you’re not expecting the DVSA to accept that as part of your records ?

I think you’ll find the DVSA stopped accepting diary records some time ago, they now want the records to be on tachograph printing paper, from memory I believe they will accept attestation forms but not diaries or notepads.

I thought you just do a 28 day printout on request? If so it will correspond with my diary.

28 day printout :face_with_raised_eyebrow: , I don’t think there is such a thing :wink:

Sounds a decent job mate…look.after it.:grin:
